Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

Was at Bruins game last night. Got to see Marchand spear a guy in the nuts...

The moment I saw the guy down on the ice, my immediate thought was that it looked like he had been speared. My second thought was to wonder if Marchand was on the ice. Then they showed the replay...

Apparently no matter how good a player he becomes, he is never going to be above these kinds of cheap shots. It was so stupid and so selfish as to be almost beyond belief. Could have cost them a critically important game and now they will likely be without him down the stretch and potentially into the playoffs.

Anyway, Casey Carreau won the Carlton award. I know some pretty good players have won that before. Tommy Cross, Ben Smith maybe?

I believe Cory Schneider (I know he won something that the Bruins honored at the time).

Just curious as to how BC hockey fandom views the newly installed AD.

I was pleasantly surprised with the hire. A guy with experience at two big ten schools with big time athletics. Young guy who seems to be well respected by his peers. Never a head guy but i think it's a chance BC needed to take. I was expecting some blah AD from the MAC, a similar hire to previous AD. I think they did their homework here knowing that a drastic change was needed.

They need someone who can make changes and know what they're doing.

BC needs to let the AD have the freedom to make decisions without too much interference.

Hopefully he can do the job because basketball and football have been awful especially being in the ACC.

Bates and GDF made bad hires and GDF micro managed too much.

Even then you're talking about a goalie...unlikely

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

Possibly Spencer Knight but it's way to early to call anyone a one and done.

Ya don't see a goalie being a one and done. It'd be incredibly rare to see that but he could be the highest draft pick of the group from listening to people who saw the camps. The other player who's supposed to be the real deal in that group who could be a flight risk is defenseman Cam York but even he's doubtful because of his size, only 5'11"
