Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

those seats are too tight as well. look over your shoulder to see the plate.

harrington should have built a new park

They should have but they didn't want to buy out the holdovers on the land. I guess we needed another Target Store and expensive apartments.

It's silly when you have to pay more to park than the price of the ticket itself.

Bummer about Colin White. Saw that he signed an ATO with Binghamton, which was surprising given his drive to play in Ottawa.

1,000th game tonight for Gionta and he scores. 15 goals on the year.

BC got him from the Niagara Scenic (yes a real team) way back when.

I know heisenberg doesn't know all the details but he doesn't have BC bringing in a dman to replace savage. Is that accurate? Lose him and 5 forwards. He has 6 forwards coming in.

Michael Karow is an incoming D for BC. Heisenberg has him for '18 but I swear I saw somewhere he is coming this fall.

Heisenberg is not always accurate on the timing. Fairly certain that Reilly Walsh coming to Harvard nect year even though Heisenberg has him as a 2018.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

Since I do not foresee any of the forwards on the current roster signing a professional contract before their eligibility is up, there is going to be a major logjam this coming season. And even more so in the Fall of 2018 (seeing as they won't be losing any seniors after this upcoming 2017-18 season). Right now I believe there will be 22 guys.

Could this be a problem? What do you see the coaches do? Put a few kids off for a year? Tell kids they might be happier somewhere else? Cutting kids/not allowing the walk-ons to be on the roster?

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

there are jersey numbers up to 36 for the team picture.....

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

This coming season? They lose 5 forwards and bring in 6 (allegedly). That's not a big deal. But you'd probably start with guys they had to unexpectedly bring in due to more than expected early departures. My guess is Merulla, Booth, and Greco are all walk-ons.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

do those guys mind being in practice every day and not caring if they never dress?

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

Good question, have no idea. Someone like Chris Shero doesn't seem to mind. Booth and Greco actually got a lot of game action this year but i don't think that's gonna guarantee them anything for next year.

sure, nobody is guaranteed anything outside of nhl draft picks on our roster :)

always hated though the way we seem to cut kids when there are a number of sweaters and if they want to practice and be on a team what's the big deal? not to mention you have depth in case of injuries or incarceration. :)

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

That's true. I mean if they are walk-ons i don't really know what goes into deciding whether to cut them or not.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

Probably depends upon how many players you can have on the ice at one time to conduct an effective practice

Chris Shero doesnt mind because he wouldn't be on a D1 roster if not for relatives..but good for him..a BC education and you get to skate with your buddies..it's all good

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

Well ya i knew that part. Similar to a peter mcmullen from a couple years ago.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

Was at Bruins game last night. Got to see Marchand spear a guy in the nuts...

Anyway, Casey Carreau won the Carlton award. I know some pretty good players have won that before. Tommy Cross, Ben Smith maybe?

It was announced he will attend BC in fall but didn't he just join the USHL after his senior year ended? I would expect BC to want him to play a full year in the USHL. We'll see. If he is dead set on playing in college next year we'll see what happens.
