Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

This sounds like a nice little Jan. 1st - 7th get away to me. A little golf, a little sight seeing, lots of dice rolling and of course, Eagle hockey. What could be better? :D

sight seeing? What? Hoover dam? Jesus FiveHole12, have you got THAT old?;) Come out and visit, we have plenty of chit for you to see

Naaaaaaaahhhhhhh.... ya jump in a hellychopper and go to the canyon. Sheeeeesh. :)

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

Maybe Hoover Dam is not exhilarating enough but there are some other sightseeing trips to do within an hour of Vegas specifically Red Rock Canyon only 20 minutes away or Valley of Fire State Park(probably about as close to a National Park as a state park could get except for Niagara Falls State Park or Sedona, AZ). A day trip to Death Valley NP or Zion NP is easily done (both within 2 1/2 hours away). At Zion you have Angels Landing trail perhaps the best and most exhilarating hiking trail in the country.

Has your new AD officially started? I somehow came across Brad Bates' Twitter account and he still has Boston College AD listed.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2016-2017 Season Thread

I think we have these new incoming in September:

Aaepeli Rasanen
Michael Karow
Eeli Tolvanen
Logan Hutsko
Chris Grando
Jacob Tortora
Monte Graham

Karow is the only defenseman at 6' 3"

after losing to graduation and early departure:
Cangelosi
Gaudreau
White
Fitzgerald
Savage
Calnan

Hopefully some these forwards can replace some of the offensive skills lost.

Anyone else have any info on who else is coming in the fall ?

Congrats to former Eagles Billy Guerin (assistant GM) and Brian Dumoulin on winning a second straight Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh

BC's best incoming recruit is gone.

At first, I thought he would be at UConn by Monday but then I saw this:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">A source close to the program reports that Tolvanen did not have the necessary credits to graduate high school</p>— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) <a href="https://twitter.com/bcinterruption/status/878073584689700865">June 23, 2017</a></blockquote>

Pretty hard to get into college if you don't finish high school.

I'm sure it will be announced on Monday that he will be enrolling at UConn in the fall after completing a summer class or two.

The Russian had issues with the TOEFL, not HS credits...unless they are more related than I understand.

Admission to BU is still on the table. The main reason why anyone goes there is because they can't get into Boston College.

Also, when did Coach York start taking the Euro-mercenaries? He had always done it the right way: true freshman from local high schools and prep schools. It worked out pretty well, I'd say. Time to go back to what won us national championships.
