Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

Anyone attend the UNH game? Watch online? Wasn't a big fan of Carey playing the point on the PP against DU...did that continue? I just don't think that's putting him in the best position to succeed, but maybe others disagree.

From listening it seemed like he was up there again. I didn't like Kreider up there & don't like Carey either. The powerplay does need some fine tuning.

Someone with some photoshop skills would get serious props for putting a few small Bud Light bottles on the back of a BU uniform where the BC stars are...

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

i dont think you would feel it was arrogant if BU did that before BC did it and honestly, i wouldn't think it was arrogant at all even if BU did it first. It's part of the history of your program, and i think it's pretty cool actually

I agree with this. Kind of a neat subtle touch.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

Yeah, the stars are kinda neat. Everything else....bleh.

I'll gladly take 3-1 through the first 4. I agree that MSU and UNH are really down right now, and UND has looked a little off and on. I don't like losing to Denver's backup goalie at home, but they came to play. I just wish they had beat the Mutts to help their RPI, but at least they lost to a team we will face 3-5 times this season. Still a lot of good tests coming up between the conference games, Michigan, Yale, and Notre Dame. But I'm really happy with where we are as a team. The balanced scoring is great too.

Goalie wise, I would expect Billet at home Friday night vs. UMass to hopefully get his feet under him, and then Milner Saturday at NU with that being the harder of the 2 games. Up until now, it's been all strong teams, so you want the veteran and #1 in net. This weekend, we can break it up a little I think (I really hope I don't eat those words though).

Something has to be said about the students. Apparently student season tickets are sold out, they were essentially all but one of the sections of the upperdeck on Friday night -I guess with the Spaz-ification of the football program it's becoming a hockey school....

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

Hey ...I/we can't make it Friday night so I've got 4 tickets available at face if anyone's interested.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

Little bit of a recruit update...
2012 Recruits: Michael Matheson named USHL defensive player of the week. Great news to see the possible 1st round pick performing as advertised, because without Cross and Dumoulin(assuming he leaves) this team will need some young guys to step up.
Frankie Vatrano picked up where he left off last year, with 5 points in 9 games for U18 ntdp, 4th on the team in scoring.
Brendan Silk off to a slow start returning from the devastating achilles heel injury from last year, just 1 point in 9 games.
Teddy Doherty, D, Dubuque USHL: 2 points through 4 games -2 rating
Sam Piazza, D, Sioux City USHL: 0 points 4 games -3 rating
Peter McMullen F ?team: no idea who he's playing for not on Omaha, who he was drafted for in USHL and not on NJ hitmen who listed with
2013 recruits:
Austin Cangelosi: 7 points in first 4 games in USHL action, good for 3rd in the league. Great to see him adjusting. Chris Peters did a little write up on him here http://unitedstatesofhockey.com/201...pdate-early-standouts-in-ushl-play/#more-1934
Scott Savage D U17 NTDP: 1g 2a 3p thru 8 games
Steve Santini D U17 NTDP: 1g 2a 3p thru 8 games
Matt Gaudreau F Omaha USHL: 0p thru 3 games
Conor Mcglynn F Oakville OJHL: 2g 3a 5p 8 games...not sure if he's coming 2012 or 2013, heisenberg lists 2013 but Oakville states could come 2012. Also has been drafted into OHL by Kingston this yr in 6th round.
Evan Richardson F Powell River, BCHL: 9 games 3g, 4a, 7pts

it was great to see, though i could have done without the 'whats the matter with DU chant' every 30 seconds. especially when we were losing. how about a 'whats the matter with spaziani' chant for some diversity?

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

Did they end up changing where the student sections are at Conte? If so are away tickets still in C and CC?

someone on here probably knows for sure but i am in MM up high and i had a few DU fans in my section (there are always BU fans in MM too when you guys are there) but visiting teams fans have been in NN and i think KK as well but i can say with near certainty that there were no DU fans at all on the opposite side. There were gold tee shirts packing that entire side, one wall to the other...........and it was great to see

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

I was in e and there was definitely a bunch of Denver fans in c and some buried up in cc in the sea of yellow
if it's true that student season tickets are sold out it will be interesting to see how those sections are on Friday with a less than attractive match up against UMass............
