Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

It's starting to scare me what this team will look like next year with the same goalies and minus:

Cross
Almeida
Carey
Dumoulin
Shea
Kreider

I was always looking at next year as a true rebuilding year. As for this year, I think it's turning into what I expected going into the season. Just fight to the finish and try to sneak into the tournament. They're still in good shape with the PWR, but we can't deny the mediocre play we've been seeing.

I would go with Milner now...

Congratulations to Maine for their OT win tonight. BC looking very pedestrian; I see them meandering through the rest of the season, probably falling to 3rd in HE when all is said and done...perhaps even 4th. They just seem to be missing something...
Its early for BC to be clicking if you ask me, seems they play down at this time of year and then start to turn it around so they're peaking when playoffs come. Your goalie situation is weird though. I think thats what keeps this team from doing anything. I thought Krieder had an attitude last night, thinks he should be in the NHL already? F'in Dumoulin is good

a classic kick to the groin game and about as bad as the ND game. I like the way they kept battling and thought they might escape with a W but dumb, preventable mistakes keep rearing their ugly head and the above mentioned "self destruct" thing happens. Good feed off Maine's web site, BTW

Dont bet on Kreider leaving for sure, still 50/50

He's accelerated his studies there's no way he's here next year.

The Rangers put a sh*t ton of pressure on him this past summer to leave

Edit: Hoky if he's here next year I'll never doubt you again

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

I don't see some 'magic switch' being thrown that sends BC onto some meteoric rise to the top of Hockey East and a subsequent rampage through the NCAAs. This has the feeling of a lost season. All sorts of accolades, though, for Maine, which IS 'rising.'

I'm expecting a 4th-place finish for BC in Hockey East and perhaps them not even making TD Garden. Sad to say, but that's my observation.

The difference in top line talent between Maine and BC was really apparent in the 1st period last night, they underperformed after Maine scored but they were totally dominant in the first 11 minutes. Thats attitude and I expect Jerry will find a way to fix that. 4th in HE? I doubt that, 2nd is more likely. The one thing I will say is your goaltending looks alot like Maines did last year, no one stood up and Timmay tried any and every guy he had. Looks like Jerry is doing the same thing.

Very well could be wrong. I heard the exact opposite about NY and pressure.... In a good way, they respect the college route

Based upon what they have and whats leaving/coming, total waste of time to stay. Look at Stepan and his development and who he is playing with vs CK. Should have left this year

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

These were two very entertaining hockey games featuring two solid teams going at each other. Overall, BC has more talent except for Maine's front line. I thought Maine compensated by playing with more "grit". Goal tending is in Maine's favor right now, but BC's will improve before the season is over. BC had opportunities in front of Sullivan that didn't go their way. BC will have a goal tender establish himself and they'll be fine.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

These were two very entertaining hockey games.

they were that for sure but BC isn't solid at this point. The tying goal by Maine after the great footwork by the linesman stopping a 2-1 shorthanded break for BC and within seconds getting the tying goal was a total killer and changed the complexion of the game IMO (i know , it was the first period but still) but i agree, Maine just wanted these games more than BC and that manifested itself at the end of both games

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

He had an attitude on friday and it didn't get much better on Saturday, lot of whining to the refs

Well if he is going to take that attitude, why doesn't he leave NOW? He seems to be mailing it in this season.:mad:

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

Great weekend guyz! :D Now how about avenging yourselves by pulling it together and laying a good smackdown on UHN next weekend, huh?

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

maybe we'd be better off with less "baggage" like the team down the street.............. this team's play is embarrassing
