BOSTON COLLEGE 2025 - 2026

Keep in mind he was only 17 and played with an injured hand. With a year to mature mentally & physically and going to the Bruins camp benefited him. His skating and shooting improved noticeably. Originally he was committed to Northeastern before decommitting to come to the Heights. On Friday the BU players couldn't get to him in a scuffle in front of the BC net as his height aand reach rendered the BU players helpless. It was right in front of me 2nd row from the glass.

I was telling the BU fans beside me he and Gasseau and Hagens could be on the line for the Bs. Gasseau is 6'4 Letourneau 6'7 and Hagens only 5'10

Personally I feel Hagens & Letourneau can use another year at BC but the Bruins may want them to develop in Providence and play more games.
Watched them both play (on TV) more than i had before - Hagens is nifty and Letourneau is do doubt a strong presence. Excited to see them wearing the black and gold whenever that happens. Wouldn't be surprised to see at least one of them play in the NHL this year whenever BC's season ends (ala Lane Hutson last year).

I wouldn't trade Pando for any coach in the NCAA right now. And you have not watched BU enough if you think the BU roster is betters than BC.
Nothing against Pando as he's brought BU to three straight Frozen Fours, but if you wouldn't trade him for David Carle you are out of your mind.

Congrats BC peeps! Been quite a while and hope you are enjoying the Tuesday morning after the Beanpot feeling!

Their nerves were on full display in the first 10 minutes, but once they scored on the PP they settled in and played solid two way hockey. You could just feel they were coming on in the second, had some good chances but once they scored it just felt like they had BU bottled up. Terrible interference call on Minnetian towards the end, GB really was all over the refs on that one. If GB is a bad coach what does that make Pando. Eagle fans can't stop barking about GB until they lose another game, which is quite likely to happen before the end of the season. They have another tough month of hockey, Mickymac, UConn, BU will all be tough, not to mention Umass there and NU at Kelley. Good to see JY and JP out there for the puck drop. Jerry looks a little frail, did he have a black eye ? Great to see the players celebrate and the students were sending the joy right back to them. Any potential recruit has to be thinking I want to be a part of that. Unique event, packed house, BC king of the beans for a year, great to see.

When you consider that BU didn't even win their first round game and only advanced via a tie and shootout "win", you could argue that BU didn't deserve to be there last night and I think justice was served with BC winning. Something must be done to reverse course on this 3x3 OT and shootout crap and exempt this tournament once again.

Also - I think we've picked on NU enough since that failed trolling effort but my God what a 2026 they are having as they finished in last place in this tournament.

Maybe Gasseau since he's a senior who has size and has been on a tear since coming back from injury. As for Hagens and Letourneau not sure if they're ready for the big show. Dean is only 18 and could use another year here at the Heights

Hopefully we don't have to wait another 10 years for the next Beanpot Trophy

If you're going to North Andover Friday you can buy SRO tickets and usually I find an empty seat somewhere. Merrihack College could be another UVM disaster if GB and the coaches don't have them ready and playing error free hockey. No tickets were available unless you need accessible seats.

Besides the fact that it has historically been a house of horrors for BC.

Got my road games lined up. XL or what used to be called XL Center is a lot better than the Toscano which does not hold enough seats, UMass, HAA,
BC just about needs to win every game to stay within the running and stay within the NPI.
Those losses to PC and UVM hurt

Why doesn't BC Bookstore allow game day discounts on jerseys or T shirts etc anymore ??? Let's get the merch sales going and BC fans decked out at football, basketball and hockey games. Not many people will buy $200 plus jerseys without an incentive.

Another line shift with Moore and Resendes out tonight. Conmy and Stiga move to play with Letourneau. Sondreal and Vote are with Michael Hagens instead.

Friday night light. Had a 2-0 lead and Mer scored 4 unanswered. Too many penalties, although they got their first shorty of the year.

- Greg Brown doesn't have it. Cloutier doesn't have it. This team is going nowhere with those two. Even a win on Monday isn't going to really change this. Forget about the excitement of getting Hemming added (he didn't do much tonight) or potentially getting Jellvik back (yea right) and their rise in NPI and potential. Brown. Cloutier. This team is done.
- Long-term, it's obvious Greg Brown is not the guy.
- This team is poorly coached.
- Greg Brown is not the guy.
FIRE GREG CLOWN right now. I wouldn't even let the coaching staff on the bus home.

Dropped from 12 to 14 in NPI. If they continue to play .500 hockey to finish the RS they will need to win the HEA tournament to make the NCAA’s.

Go Eagles!🦅

I find the numbers fascinating with Cloutier. In his 8 losses this season, he has finished period 1 and/or period 2 with an in-game cumulative save % higher than .900 just ONCE. That's 1 out of 16 periods. Tonight was the first time in his 8 losses that he had a lead after 1 period (it was tied two other times). It's wild. Look at these save percentages. It's a killer.

Korec should get the start tomorrow just to send a message. Fire up the sports psychologists for this squad next week and put the pucks away for a few days. Glad they won their Super Bowl on Monday.

edit - damnit this table will not paste from the spreadsheet. I'll see if I can find a better way to paste this in here.

Save percentages through the first period and through the second period of Cloutier's losses
MC 0.889 0.867
UVM 0.714 0.813
PC 0.600 0.750
PC 0.769 0.857
WMU 0.800 0.765
Maine 0.714 0.833
NU 1.000 0.875
DU 0.818 0.750

Absolutely bonkers how bad these numbers are.

A little bit of additional number crunching on these 24 starts.

After 1 Period: Save % .894.
-GAA is .875 which isn't bad, but opponents are only averaging a tick over 8 shots on goal against BC in the first period in these starts

After 2 Periods: Save % .900.
-GAA 1.625. On average SOG is about just over 16 SOG through 2, so just about another 8 SOG this period. Basically exactly the same as the first period.

Inability to get a lot of early saves are killing these performances. The age old adage that goalies need rubber is certainly supported here.

Some further breakdowns of numbers
10+ SOG in the first period, he has a record of 6-2-0.
- Save % after 1: .949
- Save % after 2: .930

<9 SOG in the first period, record 9-6-1
- Save % after 1: .842
- Save % after 2: .877

<7 SOG in the first period, record 8-5-1
- Save % after 1: .831
- Save % after 2: .872

As you can see the save % (and winning %) decline as he sees less pucks. It's pretty impressive that in these 24 starts, the defense has been able to keep the SOG numbers so low. I think given these numbers, it is deflating mentally on the bench. "Run support" is always helpful and provides margin for error and there's plenty of discussion to go around there as well as talking about shot quality but you need to get some big saves from a goalie early and it's not happening.

Needed that badly. Berard was ridiculously good in the third and earned that ENG.

It all started from a defensive zone faceoff win, a deep lob that caused issues for the Merrimack D and pressure on the forecheck. Hemming was due, he's hit a bunch of iron.

I'll gladly take a split with BC. Lundgren nearly stole the game, keeping MC in it through 2 periods when they were badly outshot. Credit to BC for getting it done in the end. Had you guys sweating.
