BOSTON COLLEGE 2025 - 2026

1-0-1 weekend is not bad vs the Gophers on the road. I am thinking of driving to Troy NY next week. I don't expect a lot of scoring with the loss of Leonard & Perreault but hopefully more pucks on net and tight as a drum D this year. I have also have season tix to football and I just about lost all hope for this season. Even a bad Clemson team can kick our rear end ((

A win and a tie at Minnesota is an unqualified success. Big improvement from the Quinnipiac game. And of course it finally happened, Dean Letourneau's first goal. Let's hope now that he's broken the seal that it will no longer be noteworthy to see that in the box scores.

I live on Staten Island and already have my ticket to Troy. En route I'll stop for lunch in New Paltz, where I lived for four years.

For any BC fans in the NY Metro area that are not attending the RPI game, it will air live on the Mets channel, SNY.

Letourneau actually looked good. Needs to work on picking corners but when he figures it out the floodgates could open.

Announcers originally made it seem like it ramped off the Dman's stick but this was straight laser to the corner. Reminded me of Will Smith's bullet against BU in the Hockey East championship game from the right wing as well.

Anyway, let's talk about Dean because he's the story. How can anyone be anything but thrilled for him? With the first goal now in the books, you have to look back and be impressed with how he has handled himself throughout this timeframe from the draft until today. Pretty tough situation to be put in. He's a completely different player this season; way stronger, more confident and you'll likely see big improvement throughout this season as well. We all know he really shouldn't have accelerated to come in last season but perhaps that helps him have a better season this year and the net result is a positive over the course of two years.

Aside from Dean, I think Cloutier is the other big development. Seems like he is the guy at this point and we may have something here at the goaltending position. You may see a platoon for a while with Korec, but Cloutier was out of his mind last night.

Skahan looks vastly improved and with his size he could add a dimension to the defense.

Other quick thoughts:
- At 1-1-1 with this schedule they are in ok shape especially with Jellvik out for the weekend. That being said, all 3 games were winnable.
- Conmy is a good replacement for Will Smith on that off-wing on the PP, which they lacked last season. It just wasn't working for Leonard in that spot last year.
- The second Resendes penalty was horrendous. Could you say it lost the game for BC? Absolutely.
- Anyone know who was offside on the Hagens goal that was called back? It was tough as that was completely avoidable but there was a small move made at the blue line that helped it. Add that goal on the board and take away the PPG scored from the Resendes penalty and this would have been a much easier game and likely a win in regulation.
- Last 10 mins were wild with back and forth and BC had a breakaway by Sondreal and a failed 2-on-1. OT was also bananas.
- Not sure why Stiga went 1-on-3 in overtime after BC had continued possession for the start of OT and tried to shoot a shot through the defenseman in front of him. It gave away possession. (3-on-3 is a circus sideshow).
- Nolan Joyce continues to punch well above his weight for this program and we're lucky to have him. I believe he got a secondary assist on the Moore goal on Thursday.

Overall I think the PP is going to need to keep humming along to help put pucks in the net. BC seems to have more size and toughness than previous seasons especially on defense, which really should be the strength of this team. With slightly above average goaltending, they should be hard to score on and hopefully allow the offense to manufacture just enough offense to win games.

With Carle, who owns this program, coming to town in two weeks with his Pioneers, RPI is a must-win.

They have to look at RPI as a possible trap game. While the Engineers aren't world-beaters, new coach Eric Lang, who left AIC when they dropped from D-1, has generated some buzz in Troy and has brought over some of his players from Springfield.

Good win at RPI. Dean really does look like a different player this year and is starting to pick the corners. He really went hard this offseason and is strong along the boards this year.

I know RPI is not a great team right now, but I'm encouraged to see so many of these secondary players step up and make plays especially with Jellvik out (AGAIN!?!). Berard, Vote, Dean, Resendes (great steal and pass to Hagens immediately after Hagens failed on a breakaway), and Sondreal all are making plays. Battles were easily won all over the ice which to me is a good indicator or how much RPI is struggling but I think Laing will get them whipped into shape in a few years. Resendes had a nice bounceback game and stayed out of the box. Gasseau has been fairly quiet this year and if Jellvik comes back you'd like to see he will heat up as those two have good chemistry.

Gustafsson was wheeling and dealing last night, maybe the best game he's had in maroon and gold, especially in the first 10 minutes. BC had a whole slew of chances early that they missed on, broke through with the Hagens goal and then really didn't have a great end to the first period after that goal. But the 2nd period was a masterpiece. Minnetian was also excellent as was Fortescue. Those 3 are the guys that have to lead the way on D and be consistent. The newer guys, Kostadinski and Radivojevic look solid in early action as well.

DU lost to Lindenwood last night which is not ideal as they come to Conte next weekend.

A lot of top teams are dropping games early in this season and with Cloutier looking like a decent replacement for Fowler I don't see any reason why BC can't be in the mix especially with Dean having potentially turned the corner.

Dean has now surpassed last season's point total in just four games.

Cloutier weak spots, he likes to stay low prematurely and if I am scouting I would say shoot high. When he lays his pads flat on the ice, a puck should never go under his pads for a goal. A tendency to leave the inside post open too soon. If he hugs the post long enough there will be no goals and then quickly moved to the other post when needed.

RPI game, I like the fact that BC put pucks on net. If I saw the stats right I saw 41 SOG. I hate the overpassing sometimes and leads to even no SOG usually.

BC does not seem to have a good 1 on 1 shooter since the likes of Johnny Gaudreau. This is a problem when there's a shootout after a scoreless OT and during games when there's a breakaway.

Denver has to be confident coming in. How many games has BC lost to them in a row during the regular season & post season ? Losing to Lindenwood may be a bad thing and they may take it out on BC. Hopefully not and hopefully BC can get a W against the Pios.

Agreed #29 looks stronger on his skates so far and will contribute more with a healthy hand

One player that should get a chance in shootouts is Will Vote. He was last year and is again this year among the highest shot percentages on the team. Sure, he doesn't get many shots, but he seems to bury more of them at a higher rate than others.

I only saw the clips of the RPI game but Hagens looks like he has taken a step forward towards leadership when he is on the ice. THey need that from him, no more playing in the shadows of Perrault and Leonard. Cloutier so far is a pleasant surprise, will he be prepared for the grind in the schedule ? Like these kids Resendes and Moore. seems like they will be contributors this season. Need Jellvik on the ice.

It was so disheartening last year, 3 lousy points all year and all assists. Looks like he has been working hard on his skating and release. That one timer on that pass was sweet. I am sure the Bruins camp was very beneficial and hopefully he can continue his progress and a year under his belt. Jelvik looks injury prone but hopefully just minor injury.

I was looking at Beanpot tickets and it looks like I won't go in February 26'
The resellers are cornering the market and even balconey range or start at around $200-300 price range. I wish each school can get an allotment like the old days and sell more at face value

I share your dismay about TD Garden and most other MLB/NFL/NBA/NHL venues selling out to the likes of StubHub/Seat Geek, et al for some marginal bucks. But I'm not aware that TD Garden isn't holding back the usual allotments for the four competing schools' student sections, donors, etc. Please let us know if I'm wrong on this.

Also dismayed to see BC in an apparent unholy alliance with SeatGeek, based on a photo I saw of a Conte tik for Denver.

Man, I loathe and despise the resellers.

Slow down folks. Tickets are not listed on TM at the moment, not even on the schedule for TD Garden, so I think it's reasonable to conclude they have not been put on sale yet and will go on sale at a later date. HE Tourney is also in the same boat. And I see no evidence that the schools are not receiving allotments they typically receive for donors, STHs, families, etc.

I've seen on other threads people posting about the state of things with regard to tickets. It seems a lot of people haven't figured it out that they are all in on this together - that's why you see entire rows for sale on secondary markets; those aren't purchased seats by a random ticket holder or even scumbags like Ace Tickets, they are held back and forked over by the primary seller/venue with some sort of agreement in place and it allows them to be marked up with some sort of kickback and a "sellout" declared by the venue. The FTC just filed a suit against TM and Live Nation last month; let's hope it goes somewhere. It's amazing that this has been allowed to happen for so long. It's pretty much textbook definition of a monopoly in and of itself and that's ignoring the other aspects (conspiracy in particular) of their illegal enterprise. TM cannot go away fast enough. I think it's worth pointing out that the main lowlife in Fast Times at Ridgemont High is a bozo that is standing around the parking lot and mall selling tickets and "providing a service." Those writers nailed it.

Now you know why I loathe and despise the resellers but not as much as I do the primary sellers/venues that feed these scumbags in the first place.

Just looked at TD Garden site. Beanpot isn't listed on their events page yet. I believe tickets will be released for sale to public very soon.

I asked my account manager at the BC ticket office and he said sorry you have to go through the Garden or TM and to my dismay I looked at my email from the reseller and looked up their exorbitant prices.
