BOSTON COLLEGE 2025 - 2026

1-0-1 weekend is not bad vs the Gophers on the road. I am thinking of driving to Troy NY next week. I don't expect a lot of scoring with the loss of Leonard & Perreault but hopefully more pucks on net and tight as a drum D this year. I have also have season tix to football and I just about lost all hope for this season. Even a bad Clemson team can kick our rear end ((

A win and a tie at Minnesota is an unqualified success. Big improvement from the Quinnipiac game. And of course it finally happened, Dean Letourneau's first goal. Let's hope now that he's broken the seal that it will no longer be noteworthy to see that in the box scores.

I live on Staten Island and already have my ticket to Troy. En route I'll stop for lunch in New Paltz, where I lived for four years.

Letourneau actually looked good. Needs to work on picking corners but when he figures it out the floodgates could open.

Announcers originally made it seem like it ramped off the Dman's stick but this was straight laser to the corner. Reminded me of Will Smith's bullet against BU in the Hockey East championship game from the right wing as well.

Anyway, let's talk about Dean because he's the story. How can anyone be anything but thrilled for him? With the first goal now in the books, you have to look back and be impressed with how he has handled himself throughout this timeframe from the draft until today. Pretty tough situation to be put in. He's a completely different player this season; way stronger, more confident and you'll likely see big improvement throughout this season as well. We all know he really shouldn't have accelerated to come in last season but perhaps that helps him have a better season this year and the net result is a positive over the course of two years.

Aside from Dean, I think Cloutier is the other big development. Seems like he is the guy at this point and we may have something here at the goaltending position. You may see a platoon for a while with Korec, but Cloutier was out of his mind last night.

Skahan looks vastly improved and with his size he could add a dimension to the defense.

Other quick thoughts:
- At 1-1-1 with this schedule they are in ok shape especially with Jellvik out for the weekend. That being said, all 3 games were winnable.
- Conmy is a good replacement for Will Smith on that off-wing on the PP, which they lacked last season. It just wasn't working for Leonard in that spot last year.
- The second Resendes penalty was horrendous. Could you say it lost the game for BC? Absolutely.
- Anyone know who was offside on the Hagens goal that was called back? It was tough as that was completely avoidable but there was a small move made at the blue line that helped it. Add that goal on the board and take away the PPG scored from the Resendes penalty and this would have been a much easier game and likely a win in regulation.
- Last 10 mins were wild with back and forth and BC had a breakaway by Sondreal and a failed 2-on-1. OT was also bananas.
- Not sure why Stiga went 1-on-3 in overtime after BC had continued possession for the start of OT and tried to shoot a shot through the defenseman in front of him. It gave away possession. (3-on-3 is a circus sideshow).
- Nolan Joyce continues to punch well above his weight for this program and we're lucky to have him. I believe he got a secondary assist on the Moore goal on Thursday.

Overall I think the PP is going to need to keep humming along to help put pucks in the net. BC seems to have more size and toughness than previous seasons especially on defense, which really should be the strength of this team. With slightly above average goaltending, they should be hard to score on and hopefully allow the offense to manufacture just enough offense to win games.

With Carle, who owns this program, coming to town in two weeks with his Pioneers, RPI is a must-win.
