Great draw for the Eagles. Lowell really got screwed...and that's why (I know..I'm going to continue my rant) all this obsessive analysis of the PWR all year is a big waste of time.

Hmmmm, Lowell got exactly the team PWR says they should for the first game, one of two teams that didn't finish terribly well if they get a second, and a trip down the road that all of their fans can easily drive to.

Are you writing off Q's fans?

No, I was just talking about the BC/Union game. I think Q should have a lot of fans as well. Here is the distance for each school:

BC - 50 miles
Quinnipiac - 110 miles
Union - 180 miles
Canisius - 450 miles

If you win against Union, pack your bags cause you're going to Pittsburgh...most dangerous team out of the three you could face...

I'm still not sure boosting attendance by adding two eastern teams to this bracket for a 9 pm game on the night before Easter is a very great idea.

Every team in the country is looking at BC with envy right now. That is the easiest bracket I've ever seen. Should be easy for you guys.

you have got to be a glass is half empty guy :D
i see this as an "i get a quick drive home with no traffic after we win" kinda game for all y'all ;)

Maybe on paper, but that's why they play the games. BC needs to get it together to win 2 games to make Pittsburgh. They're struggling and after the BU game they need to play 60 minutes of hockey, get Milner to play his best and the D not to make mistakes.

I don't know if they got screwed, but that is a brutal draw for Lowell.

Bracket of death.

UML and Bucky might be the two hottest teams in the country right now. Say what you will about UNH, but it is a "home" game and they've had some memorable performances in Manchester in recent years, though Denver will be looking to avenge an early season 6-4 loss in Denver.

Give me the winner of the UML/Bucky game as the winner of this regional.

Exactly, they did just boost the attendance in my living room though, watching on ESPNU. Why in the world wasn't the late game in the Central time zone? Also, I would have thought that BC is the one team they did not want to give any advantage to. $$$ talks but they may be surprised that in this case it may not be as many $$$ as they want.

But will be a lot more $$$ than if say, North Dakota was there.

I agree about the game time... makes no sense for the late game to be east.

Good point. I hope the Dunk did well in pre-sales because other than BC, this is not a group of teams the "casual fan" is going to plunk $80 down to see IMO, much less the night before Easter. I know it's the NCAAs, but I don't really understand the thinking of the scheduling or the geographic selection here. Denver and Wisconsin, two tough WCHA teams, end up both in Manchester -- why not send one of them to Providence to balance it out and make it more appealing? Certainly would've helped ticket sales (with all due respect to Quinnipiac and Canisius, I think their families and fans will be the only ones in attendance for that game), but this isn't anything new. When Providence has hosted the regionals most recently they've gotten the weaker draw every time out in terms of the overall field.

That said, from a BC perspective, you can't ask for much more than this. Union is solid but they are beatable. Quinnipiac has not been playing great hockey, barely got by Cornell last weekend and got shutout by Brown the other night. If they play up to their potential they should skate through this bracket.

They cant do anything about when Easter falls.... but they can control the game time... 7 is better for most fans than 9 regardless of what weekend it is.... does it matter in that regard that the next day is Easter?

Do Q and Union travel well?

Great news from York:

We’re going to make a few adjustments—we’re going to put Danny Linell back up on the right side with Billy Arnold and move Destry Straight from that position to center the fourth line, our checking line, with Silk on the right side and Cam Spiro on the right side. And basically play five defensemen now that Patch is ready to play. We’ll make those minor adjustments as the week goes on.”

That's a very good bracket for you guys. QU has been beaten by AIC, Brown, and Harvard. I can't understand for the life of me how the voters and computers have them ranked so high. Canisus is a joke. Union is just ok. No chance you guys don't cruise into Pittsburgh.
