I don’t understand the new Trump pivot to New York. He lost in 2016 by 1.7 million votes. The latest poll, though it was at the end of June, had him down 25%, which is even more than he lost by to Hillary.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest 850k are trending towards switching their vote.

The only way the math might work is if NYC and surrounding areas are a completely suppressed, and a massive rural turnout in upstate NY. But even then I can't see that happening.

Yeah I am sure the state he completely screwed over at the beginning of COVID is gonna vote for him...

As for the pivot...he has Hillary Syndrome. He doesnt just want to win...he wants and needs to win bigly! Remember after he got elected when he tried to pass it off as one of the great Republican victories of all time and got fact checked hard and never said it again? He needs that now. He doesnt want to be a 1 term President who got impeached. He wants to be remembered amongst the greats...which doesnt happen if you barely win a second term or lose outright.

It's gotta be him trying to get back into the NYC social circles, right? I mean, as much as he's moved his residence to Florida for tax purposes, he's still going to be in NYC a ton once he's out of office. And his ego requires that he be invited to all the A-list parties.

How's he going to be in NYC, when he flees to Russia to prevent going to jail? ;-)

I missed it, what was the pivot?

About a week ago he randomly started touting that he had a chance at New York. Even on his way to see his brother on his death bed he sent out a tweet that said he was “going for New York on November 3rd.”

Then he got the NYPD endorsement and has been tweeting things about how New Yorkers are sick of Cuomo and de Blasio.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has the support of the majority of voters who didn’t cast a ballot in 2016, according to a new poll.

Fifty-two percent of nonvoters in 2016 said they plan to vote for Biden in November’s election, according to preliminary data of a USC Dornsife poll released Thursday.

Trump has just 32 percent support among voters who didn’t cast a ballot in 2016, and an additional 16 percent of those voters said they plan to vote for another candidate.

In addition to Biden's 20-point lead among 2016 nonvoters, he has an 11-point lead among voters who backed a third-party candidate in the last presidential election, with 41 percent of those voters saying they plan to vote for Biden and just 30 percent saying they plan to vote for Trump, based on the poll. An additional 28 percent said they plan to vote for another candidate again.

Biden also has overwhelming support among voters who backed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016, with 92 percent of those voters saying they back Biden, based on the poll. Just 4 percent of Clinton voters said they plan to vote for Trump and another 4 percent said they plan to vote for another candidate.

Trump also has overwhelming support, 88 percent, among voters who backed him in 2016, but 9 percent of voters who cast a ballot for the president four years ago said they plan to vote for Biden in November and four percent said they plan to vote for another candidate.

If that is even close to accurate Trump is in for a world of hurt in November...thoughts and prayers.
