It's hot dish. You can come for dinner but if you don't like it you can gtfo.

Said in my best Minnesota passive/aggressive.

Re: Biden v Dump 1: If not now, when? If not us, who?

Early swingstate polling.

One one hand, Biden's up by 1-6 points:
Code:
NC 47-46
WI 48-44
FL 47-43
PA 48-43
MI 49-43

On the other hand, he's not up by 30 and that shows just how rock stupid some of America is.

I don’t need an election every four years to remember America is profoundly stupid. Voter turnout alone is proof, regardless of who wins. How could you not bother to show up for ten minutes for something that impacts your daily life in very meaningful ways?

In most places I've lived it's more like 2 hours and that would be very rough on a workday with a set work schedule if you had to take mass transit.

Also, when people don't buy Fruity Puffs or Choco Flakes we don't call them lazy, we call the products unattractive.

A lot of this is baked it, and I can't help thinking deliberately.

But I know you know this.

Mrs. Van Hoosen's

No one here uses that word

Not a lot of Dutch around here either.

As long as we’re talking about Minnesota, I was sad this post didn’t get some love:
“Great moments are born from great opportunity. And that's what you have here tonight, boys. That's what you've earned here tonight. One election. If we faced 'em ten times, they might steal nine. But not this election. Not this November. This November, we campaign with them. This November, we stay with them. And we shut them down because we can! Tonight, WE are the greatest political party in the world. You were born to be campaigners. Every one of you. And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearing about what a great movement the MAGAs have. Screw 'em. This is your time. Now go out there and take it.”

Nice

No. No one calls it green bean casserole. Also, no one makes mac and cheese in an oven-safe, glass or ceramic dish approximately 9”x9”.

Walleye and wild rice bake? Yeesh. No way. Baked or pan fried walleye is the only cooked fish I’ll eat. So good.

I think the only hotdish the average Minnesotan makes more than 0.25 times a year is tater tot hotdish, maybe green bean hotdish. I know tuna noodle is still somewhat popular. That said, I think we have two 9x9s, two 13x19s, and probably one or two other sizes.

That map is ****. But really, really funny. I kinda want it.

Very popular in Upstate NY as comfort food on a b-tch cold day. I have no idea what to call it, though. I think we made ourselves clear through hand gestures.

It is also available from the menu at my local brew pub here in Virginia. Does not have the same emotional impact when it's 60 degrees outside.

Re: Biden v Dump 1: If not now, when? If not us, who?

Anyone familiar with the term "funeral potatoes?" Life-shortening "casserole" made of hash browns, cheese, sour cream, butter, cream of ______ soup, covered with crushed corn flakes.

Re: Biden v Dump 1: If not now, when? If not us, who?

TBH that's what I thought the name meant.

It would certainly fit, but here in the rural midwest it's just a standard dish-to-share the "ladies" often bring to church basement kinds of meals--like funerals. Less so all the time, though, I think, as people care more about healthy eating.
