Biden v Dump 1: If not now, when? If not us, who?

Re: Biden v Dump 1: If not now, when? If not us, who?

Fox News Poll has Biden +8, including +17 in voters > 65.

So basically, Dump's base is now reduced to whiny 35-60 year-old dudes with a Silverado or F-150, wearing wraparound sunglasses, and sitting at the end of the bar calling their ex-wife a bitch while the barmaid rolls her eyes every time she turns to face the taps. ;)

Yes. And that is an excellent visual.

He is going to spend the next 5 months laying the groundwork so that in the event enough votes are counted legitimately and he loses (and if the votes are counted legitimately, he'll lose) every single person who votes for him will not believe the authenticity of the election. He knows his only chances to win are to cheat or to have the coronavirus absolutely decimate the country in the fall and throw everything into utter chaos. So to him, the next best thing to winning will be that 40% of the country does not believe the outcome and to foment whatever hellish nightmares can come of that kind of rebellion.

When it turns out we watched the disintegration of our country in 2020 I hope that those of you who thought trump was just another run of the mill, subpar president enjoy hell.

I think you're giving these people way too much credit, or buying into the myth they're trying to create for themselves as John Wayne/Rambo types. Republicans are p*ssies. Every one of 'em including Chump himself. What he's going to do is claim he got cheated out of the vote so he can monetize outrage from the suckers who vote for him. Most likely that will be through a new media company that will put Fox out of business especially after it steals all of Fox's "talent" (Hannity, Dobbs, etc). This, and not because of a lack of favorable coverage, is why he's going after that network recently.

I think this is right. Dump has a life-long history of backing down after an initial aggressive display. Like all bullies, he is a coward at heart. If he loses, he will run a PR campaign claiming to have been cheated through conspiracy and fraud and will try to cash in as much as possible. He will, of course try to keep the post election uproar alive as long as possible, because he needs the attention.

I assume of every 100 Republicans making "pry it from my cold dead hands" noises, 99 will pee themselves and run the second something is pointed back at them. These p-ssies are used to murdering deer.

But that one with a screw loose can do some damage, so every one of these GOP necktie parties should be assigned one sniper in the event. Preferably a woman of color so she can enjoy her work.

I think he will retreat to his gold-plated Safe Space of Solitude and tweet twisted conspiratorial hate for the rest of his fat-shortened life.

The instant he is no longer president I hope every news and social media network embargoes him. Flip the off switch and it no longer exists.

We tried universal access to broadcast. Put the Deplorables back in the cone of silence.

Clearly I hope you (and others) are correct and I am way off. But since we are watching this country deteriorate before our very eyes, I wish you all had more to go on than the historical norm of "bullies (and today's republicans) are really just cowards." We've already seen armed idiots marching on state capitols and I don't imagine for one second that all of those weapons displayed were unloaded. How much more would it take for a rally like that after a "stolen" election to turn violent. I for one would be willing to do just about anything I'm capable of doing to make sure I can exercise my right to vote if I choose to vote and someone tries to stop me.

As for the assignments at those necktie parties, while I am all for acknowledging the hundreds of years of wrongdoing perpetrated on people of color when it comes to the job market, as a middle aged and getting older straight white middle class male, I don't want to get shut out of that opportunity, so let's assure me a fair shot. Besides, we all know the profile of people like that looks a lot more like me than it does your average woman of color.

Nah, you and I are going to have to sit this one out. Sisters are doin it for themselves.

I'm an increasingly old, increasingly fat white dude (but with all my hair so suck it, Trebek). If I get stop and frisked as a Suspect Derp under the new regime, or even potted by "I was standing my ground against the blue eyed devil" accident, welp, sux for me but nothing others haven't been living with for centuries. I'll eat it for the common good.

Re: Biden v Dump 1: If not now, when? If not us, who?

Poll: Donald Trump leads Biden by just 3 points in Utah

A republican candidate should not be within the margin of error in a presidential poll in Utah. Even if the democratic candidate was a Mormon and the republican was the devil. The article notes trump is trending downward as well, as a poll 6 weeks ago had him with a 5 point margin.

It should be noted that this same polling firm had trump and Clinton in a virtual tie at some point late in the game in 2016. trump beat her by almost 20 points, and that was even with a home town Mormon running as a third party candidate and likely taking a lot of trumps votes away. So a beach or two worth of salt. If there was no voter suppression or virus hangover in November, Biden would probably have an electoral landslide as big as George H.W. Bush in 1988. Or maybe even bigger.

Please vote by mail, and devote at least some time to helping with voter turnout. Do phone banking, knock on doors (any labor union doing that work in the fall would welcome you as a volunteer) or offer to drive people to the polls if they did not vote early. Or look into helping drive them to the polls to vote early. This election really will be about who votes. If we turn our voters out, we will win. If we don't, the world will be the loser.

Re: Biden v Dump 1: If not now, when? If not us, who?

Dump had issues in Utah last time too. It's weird; don't use it as an example of anything but weirdness.
