Clarkson and St Lawrence is a RIVALRY? I've never heard anything about this rivalry.
All of this is irrelevant, of course. Red Cloud already let us know that the biggest and best rivalry in all of college hockey is RPI-Union.![]()
That's not what I said. What I said is that, in my view, in order for the rivalry between hypothetical schools X and Y to be a legitimate candidate for the title of the single "best rivalry in college hockey," fans of school X* should consider school Y to be their biggest rival, and fans of school Y should consider school X to be their biggest rival. If 40% of the fans of school X actually consider school Z to be their biggest rival, then to me, neither the X-Y rivalry nor the X-Z rivalry is a legit candidate.I really don't get that reasoning, either. Just because a team has two intensely heated rivals, neither one of them must be an intensely heated rivalry?
BU/NU (up tomorrow night!)
Ok Ok... maybe its not the best in college hockey, but it's up there, and its tomorrow.

As I said, this logic disqualifies my school's rivalries, so I'm not just creating this logic to make ours seem more important. It just seems to be an important criterion to me. That doesn't mean the X-Y rivalry and the X-Z rivalry aren't still heated rivalries, of course.
* Obviously it'll never be every single fan, because inevitably there'll be one guy from school X who has an ex-girlfriend who cheated on him with a guy from school Q and he'll hate school Q with the burning fire of 1,000 suns as a result, but it has to be the overwhelming majority.
Top rivals:
Tier 1:
1. North Dakota/Minnesota Record: 268 games played 125-130-13
2. Boston College/Boston University Record: 246 games played 106-123-17
Tier 2:
3. Michigan/Michigan State
4. Denver/Colorado College
5. Maine/UNH
6. Minnesota/Wiscosin
I put North Dakota and Minnesota number one because:
- most games played, most national titles between rivals, and truly hate each other

Another non-conference: Michigan Tech/Northern Michigan.
I would have loved to be at THAT Frozen Four.
Also a fail.
Just so we're clear, anyone who disagrees fails right?![]()
No, but people who are willfully ignorant fail.

So how is what he said willfully ignorant? In fact, I thought his post was well reasoned, offered evidence to support his opinion, and of course the most important part, I agreed with it.
