Some big announcements made today. French named Captain and Schmidt named Assistant Captain. New freshman now have numbers:

18 Brett Orr
19 Jake Kauppila
21 Jonathan Desbiens

Also, according to the Bentley Athletics website, TJ Dumonceaux and Andy Chugg are no longer on the roster... (Berry still on the team)

Laurel and Hardy still coach this clown show..........Heard they were all being canned

Re: Bentley University Hockey 2016-2017: The (Max) French Revolution

TJ Dumonceaux put up some impressive numbers in Junior (BCHL) with 57GP and 47 PTS, freshman year his numbers haven't resembled his junior days but that isn't surprising it can take a year to acclimatize to the college game and start to get the positive ice time. Andy Chugg it is harder to make the comparison as he is a defenseman, but at 6' 4" it can also take a year to grow into the feet and also get acclimatized.

Players coming out of the USHL which is a faster league come acclimatized, while some out of other leagues tend to need a year to make the transition IMHO. Watching the player however one can realize potential, not having seen these players tough to comment other than to wish the players well.

Chugg never really got much playing time, but his size was definitely helpful with this relatively small team. Dumonceaux took me by surprise when I saw he wasn't on the roster, as he showed a lot of hustle and promise in the games the played before getting hurt last season.

Not much chatter on here about our opening game in less than 16 days. Big question is how well Bentley fans will travel on a long weekend without classes on Monday and Tuesday?

Don't expect too big a crowd. A few members of the Top Shelf will be in attendance, but I doubt too many other students will make the trip.

Frozen Fenway vs. Army on Jan 5th.

Someone needs to alert Fenway Sports Management that Bentley College went away during the Bush administration.

Last visit to Frozen Fenway for Falcons was 28 December 2013 in which Bentley beat Holy Cross 3-2.

Myself and a few friends will be there! I'm sure there will be at least a few other students there who are from NH that are home for fall break.

WOW. What a win. That game was just about everything we could've hoped for in terms of expectations for the season. French was an absolute stud, Argue was a wall, and the new freshmen were outstanding. The only things that only very slightly concerned me were no Ahlgren and no Gorowsky... guys I was expecting big things from this season. If we can produce like we did tonight, who needs em! BIG. WIN.

If we can pick up at least 1 against NEU next weekend, that's an incredible start to the season- and will hopefully set the tone for this new chapter of Bentley hockey.

Agreed with 527 and schiegs, best game that I have seen the Falcons play in a couple of years. Frosh look great, Argue is back to his freshman form in net, and French should have a monster season. I will save my detailed comments for the UNH thread, as my fellow UNH fans are besides themselves. :-)
