Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

Re: Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

Would be a shame if Gladiuk were to finish his fine Bentley career on the DL. Need that first line and first blue line unit back intact tonight. And, the Falcons need another sensational performance by Antoni, who has 85 saves so far on the weekend?

Re: Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

You know, given how this team overcame this year, it was a gritty, fun, heartfelt effort. They literally left it all on the ice until the final whistle. I think in the long run, we'll look back fondly on this season, not about what they could've done (and missed) but rather how they had to overcome and at the end, just lost to a team that was the best in the league for this year.

Maybe that means RMU loses one, but in a best of three, they simply weren't losing.

A good year to be a Bentley fan and the future is bright. While finishing eighth maybe isn't what everyone envisioned at the beginning, this team will be back, and again, I think this year will ultimately shine bright effortwise.

It was a hell of a season. The team seemed a little bipolar at times, but they always fought and played their hearts out. The northeastern sweep at the beginning of the season is a huge highlight for the program. This senior class was one to remember, whether it be Glads, who is now 2nd all time in scoring for Bentley, or Tyler Krause, who got his first NCAA goal just a couple of weeks ago (and was a huge asset in the playoffs). This team shows a ton of promise, especially when healthy, and Jayson Argue has possibly the highest potential in the league as a goaltender. I'm very excited for next season, and know there are a lot of good things to come. Can't wait til the new season thread gets created, we've got a lot of prospects to talk about. Namely Jonathan Desbiens, another kid from West Kelowna (French's junior team) who recently set the record for the most goals in a season for the Warriors.

Great post! I am optimistic moving forward also, although the injury bug has seemed to plague the Falcons more than most teams the last few years.

We should learn the decision on the new rink on campus soon, as the board meets again later this month, I think. Faculty came down strongly opposed, but students and some admin still want it. Supposedly, construction would take about 14 months, so would be ready for 2017-2018 season, which would really help recruiting next year, I would think.

Injuries have definitely been tough on the Falcons, but it was really nice to see how they responded and didn't fold the tent.

The new rink is an absolute no brainer for this program. To have anyone stand in the way would be completely criminal. It is in the best interest of the student body, the program and the community. The staff has worked hard for it.

Build the rink already:)

Re: Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

Repeating what most have said, this year was filled with ups and downs... but we've got to admire the Falcons for fighting through all the injuries and adversity and not ever giving up. This team had a high ceiling and unfortunately hit a ton of barriers along the way but finished with their heads held high. A great senior class has a lot to be proud of these past few seasons and left a lasting legacy for this program.

I'm thrilled about the progress of the rink, the renderings are gorgeous and I think we're finally close.

Next year will be senior year for the Top Shelf. Feels like yesterday we were wide-eyed freshman trying to get some atmosphere at the JAR and collecting signatures for our rink petition... I think next year will be special for us. I'm looking forward to fighting hard for our rink. It's something that we've been working hard for for three years now and we're going to bring it home senior year. As far as the team on the ice... Im thrilled. I think this is easily the deepest Falcon team in my four years here. The freshman class looks stronger than any I've seen (and we've had great classes the past two years). A healthy season from Argue, French, McMurphy and McDonald is scary for the rest of the AHA. However the thing I'm most excited about is the depth of this team. I'll wait until we get a new thread going but I've been fooling around with potential lines and the depth of this team is scary. I'm really looking forward to discussing the team this offseason and getting ready for next year!

Good stuff, TTS. You and your group have been a super asset to the program the past three seasons. You should feel free to begin an off-season thread, as you have earned it! :-)

Transitive property hockey east champs! Also glad to see RIT take down RMU. Hopefully they can do AHA proud again in the tourney!

Also: waiting until the season is over to start our new thread. Just wanted to update everyone.

Tigers will do their best to make the AHA proud, thanks!

Looking forward to visiting your new rink.

I am still annoyed about the Tigers taking out my alma mater UNH in 2010 to reach the FF, but I will be rooting for RIT over presumably Qunnipiac and UML/Yale in Albany next weekend.

I came in second overall in the AHC Pick 'Em contest thread this year by picking RIT all the way through the post-season. Thanks, RIT. :-)

Check out the forum thread regarding ND leaving Hockey East. Lots of talk about Bentley taking the open spot, I think it would be a great fit with the new rink and the growth in this program. Could be the boost it needs to go to the next level.

Not really.

Would not get NU's vote. :-)
