Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

Frenchie is injured. Not sure what it is, I've heard it might be his knee. He didn't play Saturday either

Ouch; that is not good. Gladiuk really looked like he was without any support on his line on Friday night. And, the Defensemen gave up too many second and third chances; no doubt really missing Weinstein and Maher.

No idea on this front, but that's the best guess when he's out 2 games to start the season probably.

As for the games themselves, remember a couple of things to start the season:

1) Mercyhurst already had 2 games under their belt. That's a big deal when you're young and starting the season.
2) Bentley was extremely young with a lot of guys seeing their first minutes. This will even out. There's a lot of talent there who did some great things.
3) The conditions of the ice were absolutely ATROCIOUS. It was very humid out, and it didn't help that the ice typically isn't great to begin with.

That's all I can offer up from my analysis. Don't know anything on the injury front.

One thing we know for sure. Lots of parity once again in the Atlantic. Don't like 2 conference games right out of the chute. The youth looked really good. (this new class will eventually show again what a really fine recruiter Murphy is) Goaltending looked good. Top 6 need to find a groove and power play needs work.

First two points good, but lousy ice affects both teams, no? I did notice the refs trying to fix divits around the nets more than once Friday night.

We'very played 5 straight against Mercyhurst. It'll be nice to see a different team.

Well guys just as an FYI we will be there at NU tomorrow to do the audio broadcast. So you'll be able to listen if you can't get to the game. Stay tuned to BentleyFalcons.com for the audio link.

NU also offers a free HD stream of all home games if you'd like to pair your audio with a visual aid. might not be fully synced but they can work together. Gonuxstream. Just figured I'd offer

Sadly, I will miss both games this weekend while in NH, but thanks for the heads up for following online.

Re: Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

Officially sold out for Saturday according to Bentley twitter.

Re: Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

My recommendation next Saturday is to get there SUPER early if you're driving. There's not a whole lot around there for a restaurant or bar atmosphere, but we're all pretty friendly if you want to hang out.

Go hit Halfway Cafe in Watertown or Tommy Doyle's in Newton.

I don't think either is more than a mile from the rink.

Re: Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

Bang! That just happened! It looked like they might pull off one of their colapses, as they were just slapping at the puck trying to clear it almost the entire 3rd period. Almost cost them.....again.

Bentley was absolutely dominated for about 50 minutes tonight. Kevin Roy made the defensemen look like they were standing still when he went by. Is he that fast or are we that slow?

Bentley was great at keeping the front of the crease clear for Argue, who had an amazing night. Stood on his head the entire game. Also, Bentley did a good job capitalizing on the few opportunities they had.

Northeastern dominated in pretty much every stat, except the one that counts. Congrats to the Falcons on a gritty win.

Me thinks this win makes tomorrow night even tougher. The Huskies are likely going to be focused, determined, and more than a little ticked.

Tonight's key words:
Argue.
Opportunities.
Luck.

Oh, and three straight against Northeastern is pretty freakin' awesome. The last time Northeastern beat Bentley, the Dow was below 10,000. :-D

Amazing box score; sorry that I missed this one. Good to see Gladiuk get onto the scoresheet, and in a big way. Argue certainly upped his SV% tonight. Let's keep the string going against NU on Saturday night at the JAR.

Wow. Just....wow.

While I was listening to the Northeastern audio feed and couldn't get a lot of color, it sounded like they were more evenly matched tonight. They seemed to continue the offensive pressure late in the game, and I didn't hear a lot of simple dump and run desperation in the final minutes. Granted, I was listening to the other team's feed, so I can't offer a lot.

Sweeping a Hockey East team over a weekend? That's a program highlight to date.

Loving this!

What was the crowd like?

Some nice pics from the game last night at Matthews from Melissa Wade on USCHO.com. A couple good snaps of Bentley players laying some hits.

Way cool. Maybe I should not attend Bentley games to give them more good karma?
