Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/3k7qy5/60_teams_60_days_bentley_university_falcons/

Thanks, Ronnieb; an entertaining read, except for the reminder about our most infamous former student Charles Taylor (not sure that he graduated). But, if no one from Bentley helped you with the write up, I guess that it is our just deserves.

Just a couple of comments. Regarding upcoming big game #3, we beat BU 4-1 in their barn on 14 December 2013, in an admittedly down year for the Twrriers. As for the RIT match up, we are 4-2 over the past three seasons, with a sweep at the JAR in January 2014. During the 2011-2012 season, we lost 2-0 and 2-1 at home, but then gave the Tigers a pretty good scare in the postseason in Rochester, winning the first game 4-1, then losing the second game 5-4 in 2OT, before succumbing 3-0 in the third game. But, I do not think that the Falcons have anything to prove against the Tigers.

Wasn't me, just interested in finding the link to these reviews. I like you're comments though, probably more informed than the author. I do appreciate the folks that have taken on the 60 team write ups.

May be a good opportunity, but not a high character move. Unfortunate.

No disrespect to Bentley but BU is hard to pass up period. Add the fact he went to BU and it's a no brainer. I find it hard to believe you wouldn't leave your job for a higher paying job with more publicity, more exposure and more chance to grow career-wise. Let's be easy on calling someone out for character just because it's not good for your team.

Had I been in need of a job, been offered the job, and then accepted the job, I would stay on the job for a respectable de minimums term (i.e. longer than 8 weeks). I would do this even if offered more money at a better firm, as a measure of professional decency. I can say this without reservation because this is precisely what I just did.

So yes, I can say I would not leave my job for a higher paying job with more publicity.

There is an infinite list of possible explanations, so I won't spend much time throwing stones at this guy. But to justify low behavior (if that is what it was) by saying "you would do it too", only highlights the kind of person you are; someone who would.

Absolutely, as a matter of fact very rarely would this happen in the real world. Most respected and discriminating employers would never even consider the resume of a prospective employee who had accepted and began a position less than 60 days prior. Red flags and alarms all day long. Though I do realize this is the business of sports. Always setting a lower bar. :)

Less than a week til opening day... and some revenge against Mercyhurst!

Need A LOT of revenge against 'hurst. Bentley Athletic Dept email made no mention of hockey games this weekend, instead looking ahead to NU game a week from Saturday. Very strange.

Concentration of resources. Making an impression with a H.E. member may be more valuable than a current conference foe. Remember, we may very well be putting more effort into securing good home games in a few years.

So, you are saying that Bentley cannot afford the resources to send an extra email? Maybe they are saving on emails to build the rink on campus? I am still impressed that three OOC teams are visiting the JAR this season.
