Do any of the three N/C teams visiting THE JAR travel particularly well? Might they actually need to "manage" tickets to ensure people don't get turned away at the door due to fire code capacity or some other nonsense? It wouldn't take much of a showing from NU to or MC to create an issue.
Headline: "Fans Riot at JAR After Being Turned Away"
Good question. But, Mac is coming on a school night, and RPI is coming from 2.5 hours away. Not sure about NU fans on their Saturday night visit. Just hoping that Bentley fans outnumber the opposing team fans for every game at the JAR this season, which has not always been the case in the past.
There are a lot of RPI alums in the Boston area.
Thanks for posting, TTS. Looks like the schedules posted by FlagDude and mar were spot on. Overall, a challenging schedule for this season, but maybe an easier OOC slate than last year, with four of the the five HEA and one ECAC game winnable. But, four each against 'Hurst and RIT will be tough. Also, lots of mid-week games. Again, three OOC games at the JAR will be a first.
Potential rough stretch of schedule at the start of January - @Air Force, @Robert Morris, home against RIT.
Yep, you got that right, Komey. And, the second half has been problematic for Bentley in many recent seasons, although last year the implosion did not occur until the final couple of weeks.
I don't really think the term implosion would be the right choice for last season. The team went 6-1-2 for a period of time before losing its last two games of the year. Even with the losses to Sacred Heart (a much better team than people gave them credit for) and a Holy Cross team with arguably the league's best goalie, a 6-3-2 record down the stretch is far from an implosion. In fact, last year's Bentley team only lost back-to-back games three times over the course of the season. Plus they outplayed Mercyhurst for virtually the entire series, save for the worst kind of puck luck imaginable (Rick Gotkin in the Game 3 postgame said to me last year, "I don't think I'll ever understand how we won this series." or something to that effect). So I don't think the term implosion would be the right term to use there.
FYI. Just saw that Matt Curley has left to take a job in Austria. Good Coach.
Hey guys the college hockey reddit group is doing a 60 teams in 60 days where we post an article a day about a different team and no one has claimed Bentley yet. I was wondering if any of you use reddit and would like to possibly write the post for bentley? If one of you does use reddit and wants to do the post you can sign up here https://www.reddit.com/r/60Teams60Days/comments/3emd8k/signup_post_claim_your_team_here/. If none of you use reddit I would be willing to post it and give you credit in the post for helping. I would need help in filling out the information in this google doc https://docs.google.com/document/d/1P0Di28DB_yljSg4QPJhJ10x-0CpZTpsCWSR613_r4DU/edit?pli=1. Your help would be greatly appreciated
Whadda say, Dan?
Can't speak for Dan but not sure how happy USCHO would be if he wrote a piece for another site...
Oh, right, good point.
Whadda say, schiegs?
When do you need this filled out by? I can get working on it if Schiegs hasn't? Or we can split it up, seeing as we only know of recent Bentley Hockey history.
TTS, it's yours. I'm too much of a curmudgeon, and mine would come across too critical.
