BC Women's Hockey Offseason 2010: Stack Strikes Back

Re: BC Women's Hockey Offseason 2010: Stack Strikes Back

Could be worse. Better to have a reputation associated with obsessing about girls, than for obsessing over the snack bar, isn't it? ;)

It's really all in how you choose to look at things.

Excuse me, my "preoccupation" with the culinary delights, or lack thereof, at the various institutions we frequent is not a selfish pursuit, but for the greater good. Ever see a USCHO forum reader roll into Conte empty handed? Of course not, and I am the reason why.

Forewarned, is forearmed as they say, and I'm sure the Dining Guide and other commentary regarding snackage has helped keep a multitude of fans "satisfied" as they follow the sport across North America. . :p

Actually, Conte is not completely without refreshment! I recall Padstack having found a Coke machine in a distant stairwell.

See what I mean Grant? It's all in how you choose to look at things. You're young, it's a skill you'll learn. ;)

You mean the one that would take your money and then push the bottle off the edge...past the conveyor and down to the bottom of the machine?

Though in hindsight, I think you, Padstack, Mr. Slickback, and the Irishman were drinking from some other trough...one filled with tea.

Now that I'm joining the BC alumni ranks, I will be joining Pike's Peak, the official BC hockey booster club. I have a 5-7 year plan to campaign and become the club's youngest president. If that happens, one of my crusades will be to set up some sort of concession offering for the brave maroon-and-gold souls who come out to support BC women's hockey.

I would gladly give you Tuesday's hamburger for more fans, especially students, in the seats. We shall continue to forage, you should go forth and corral warm bodies!

This is what you, what we all, should strive for at games. This is one group of students at Maine. There was another small section out of the frame, and other students in the stands. In total I recall counting 30 or so. Ten times the amount at BC.

I've never been to a hockey game at BC (maybe some day!)

However, if they do only typically get 3 fans--I'm guessing that might be Grant, Joe, and Velle?--every team would be lucky to have even a fraction of the passion they seem shown over the past few years, regardless of numbers. Quality can be more important than quantity, though more of both is always a good thing.

P.S. Hux, are you ever not thinking about food? LOL

By now, I suspect Grant, Joe and Vell(?) have donned the caps and gowns, made the long walk and accepted their diplomas they have worked so hard to earn (maybe not that hard). My hope is that once departing Chestnut Hill, they not put the Eagles Women's Hockey team too far behind them. These guys have contributed mightly to keeping all of us not in Chestnut Hill up to speed on the games, attitude and sentiment that surrounds the Eagles. Their summary of road trips filled with brushes with the law, insight into games and player summarizations will certainly be missed. I know I am one of many that wish you all the best of luck and hope you are as successful in your next stage of life as you have been in the present. Good luck to all.

I'll second all stated in this post. Hope they all find time to check in...and get to the games as often as possible. The Eagles could probably use a few more super fans to attempt to fill any void. Not easy to fill the shoes of fans like the BC boys.

Re: BC Women's Hockey Offseason 2010: Stack Strikes Back

I Dunno....There is a couple of other Olympic Players returning to HE, and maybe one more one the way.

Remember this post from over a month back....The news is now known...

Players I was referring to were Wakefield and Ward, with the maybe one more one the way being Poulin....All going to BU....

I'D say the HE POY is wide open now......

Out of curiousity, Ward is 1987 so how much eligibility does she have left?

Thanks very much!

Still one more final exam to go... so not quite done yet. But it's been a blast, and I look forward to attending games as much as possible next year and sitting with some of the parents.

There are some great underclassman hockey fans at BC, I will do what I can to get them to support the women's team!

Hopefully next year is a better one... no matter what happens, it can't be as painful as the way the Bruins season just ended :( I hate life right now and want to do property damage :( :( :( :(

Thanks guys :) We walk next Monday. I'm going to miss this program so much... being in CT, it's going to be hard to come up for many games, but I'm definitely not going to be a stranger - I'll still be following the team online at least!

IIRC, She played 3 years at McGill. In the CIS you can play for five years. So not sure if she has one or two years left.
