BC Women's Hockey 2024-2025: Embrace The Chaos

Does anyone looking in from the outside, think bc will be brought forward with this coaching staff? There have been questions for years about this programs style of play. Granted they used to have tons of talent who put up big numbers in HockeyLeast play. But when the competition ramped up in the NCAAs, their defense, or lack thereof, was exposed for not having played better competition. Now they don't have anywhere near the level of talent they used to have so if, and that seems a big if, this program is going to move forward that would be a heck of a coaching job.

I'm sorry @Vintage Dublin but you need to grow up. Personal vendetta ? Trying to harm her? Sorry but you sound like an idiot. I'm sure Kinger is a great person. But she's a terrible hockey coach.

I'm sorry but we have every right to be frustrated with BCWIH for the continued mediocrity over the last 8 seasons ! Do I need to list the reasons ? The record, the inability to win big games, the long list of top players that have left the program, the lack of development with their recruits, the inability to hire top assistant coaches, the watching of programs like Northeastern and UConn blow by us!

Do you want me to keep going ?? I got a long list here

I thought this was a fan forum where fans could come on here and talk about their favorite teams. These are not personal attacks. This is D1 hockey. You seem to think " KInger is " where she belongs" Fine. Are you happy with the last 8 years ? I'm not. Do you like the direction they are headed ? I'm not. Make your case and I'm happy to respond but please spare me with the personal attack nonsense.
Calling people names speaks volumes. It is a fan forum, but if you go back to most of your posts, all you've done is trash the coach, so obviously you're not a fan. But go ahead, call me names, I'm old, I can take it. I stand by what I said. I will not go back and forth with you I'm just stating my opinion.

Ok if I called you or anyone else names I apologize.

The coaching situation at BC is a disaster. A total disaster. We need to make a change now. Again- not personal. This is D1 athletics. You are supposed to win- especially as a BC Hockey program.

If you've ever needed a better example of what a coaching change can do at a program look at BU today. They won Hockey East after hiring a new coach 2 years ago ! I believe BU finished in 7th place in Hockey East 2 years in a row ! And guess what ? The new coach replaced a BU coaching legend in Brian Durocher. Durocher won multiple Hockey East Championships with Poulin, Wakefield etc. But he got tired, he stopped recruiting and more importantly he started finishing in the middle of the pack. Unacceptable at BU. Should also be unacceptable at BC.

I'm telling you if BC brings in the right person we will be back in no time. We just watched it happen today. If you think finishing in the top 4 in Hockey East for 10 years in a row is a great accomplishment like @TonyTheTiger20 and the BC media people do then fine. I don't.

I am interested to see how BU does against Clarkson tonight. Bu is playing well so hopefully they represent the conference well.

For those who keep score, the ECAC has 4 teams in the tournament, Hockey East has 1. FYI for those that don't pay close attention, BC actually swept Clarkson in 2 games in the fall in October. That seems like 2 years ago I know.

Another interesting tidbit. 2 out of the 3 Kazmaier finalists announced yesterday Casey O'Brien and Caroline Harvey are both from New England ( O'Brien Mass/Harvey NH) and both attended High School and played their club hockey here in Massachusetts. Hopefully we get to the point soon where top local players don't have to go out west to develop into top college players.

BC should be an option for these players to stay close to home. It really makes me angry that BC is not an option anymore. Again- its unacceptable.

UW Natty winning goalie Cami Kronish was from the east and was very interested in BC, but they did not reciprocate the interest. In all fairness, she did not start until her Sr year, so perhaps she was a late bloomer.

I may attend the game tonight, we shall see. Do you know of any broadcast media that is available for it?

I did see BU in the fall, and they are a physical team that can be uncomfortable to play against. I wonder if the matchup works against the Terriers a bit, in that Clarkson will also play a gritty game with an aggressive forecheck, but the Golden Knights have more high-end players. If nothing else, Clarkson will need some ice packs after the game.

We must stand behind our league and everyone in Hockey East should cheer for BU. Anything can happen in a one and done game. Then we worry about the next game later. GO BU.

Sorry but NOPE lol

RE: UW natty winning goalie: I could probably win a natty as a UW goalie haha

I have more to say I've just been at a work conference all week and haven't had the time to really dive in yet.

The problem with this idea is that Kronish really played incredibly in their playoff run, as I remember it. Yes, maybe the Wisconsin coaches and goalie coach could get you to that level; I don't know! Tournament MVP, from NY, NY.

Kronish is on the Boston PWHL roster, though I don't think she has played much. But still, on a PWHL roster.

The UW goalie coach, Mark Greehaigh, certainly has a track record, both with goalies while at UW and afterwards. I'd guess few people had Kristen Campbell playing on the Canadian national team prior to her coming to Wisconsin, eg.

(And BTW: maybe the best UW goalie of them all, Ann-Renee Desbiens, didn't win a NCAA championship. The 2017 game still haunts me...)

On a team with Sarah Nurse and Emily Clark. I don't think either of them won one, either, but I'd have to double-check if Clark was still around for 2019.
Yes, it seems Emily Clark was around in 2019, after centralizing the previous year and playing in the 2018 Olympics for Canada.

Tangentially, BC itself had Olympic players with Barnes, Keller, and Flanagan winning gold that year -- quite the D corps! They went up against Wisconsin/Canada's Desbiens, Nurse, and Clark among others. Not sure if this subject will cheer Reggie and TTT up, though.

@BowWowWow Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Some incredibly painful losses as a BC fan for sure. I'd still rather be competing in the national tournament losing heartbreakers than sitting on the sidelines like we have been doing for way too long now. Please don't get me started :)

I hate to admit it but I was very impressed with BU last night. I thought they were going to get blown out early but they really found a way to turn that game around and came very close to tying it up late. BU is going to become a program to be reckoned with. I am impressed with Watchorn.

Hats off to the ECAC. Having 4/8 teams in the quarters is very impressive.

Maybe Hockey East can sign up for the D3 tourney next year. I like their chances against against teams like Endicott and Elmira. I think :)

I'll bet you the amount of money of your choice that BC finishes ahead of BU in the standings next year. And double that amount two years from now.
Unfortunately your close personal friendship with the BC head coach makes it impossible to have an honest conversation about the state of the program. I know you don't honestly believe that the BCWIH program is in good hands and is headed in the right direction but I admire your loyalty as a friend.

FYI I speak to BC people and other women's ice hockey fans all the time and there isn't 1 person I have spoken with who is happy with what's going on with BCWIH. Not one. As a matter of fact, almost every conversation I have usually starts with " What's wrong with BCWIH?"
