BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

Re: BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

In my obsessive quest to post every link about BC WIH I could find I somehow missed this great interview with Haley Skarupa from over the summer:

Great interview, Grant. She seems much more specific about what she likes in the freshmen than at the same stage last year (http://www.bcinterruption.com/bosto...five-good-minutes-womens-hockey-coach-crowley). Last year, Anastos was an upside surprise and two of the frosh didn't make it through the year, and we still won HE. This year I really think is our best chance yet, with Kessel out and Carpenter hungry for a medal.

What freshmen didn't make it through the year last season?

Does progeny of #66 ring any bells?

Really - was not aware that she bailed. In all honesty, my observations of her growing up would suggest that she really didn't have the skills to play consistently at the D1 level. She would have been a heck of a D3 player.

Who was the other?

I want to say it was Fish

It has been for the last several years, but there is a "new" platform this year. It's going to be up to BC whether they keep the content free or not. I can't really complain either way though because you get to watch probably 80% of the teams in the country with the monthly $9.99 subscription. BC is one of the few that has been free.

Lemieux and Fish were off the roster by some point in January. Tough break for those kids.

What does that mean "off the roster"? Did they quit/get cut? I assume they were scholarship players - what happens to their schollies?

BC loses Carpenter, Skarupa, Trivigno, Keller, and Pfalzer for 4 Nations. Not sure about Capizzano yet.

Rut roh.

Surprising that Coach Crowley scheduled games during this period, what with the camp the week before, and a week of games.

They lose them for PC, NU, and UVM. Yikes.

Good news is Northeastern loses Coyne and Savage, and UVM loses Pelkey. So not as bad as it might be but still a risk of a loss we could otherwise avoid.

Of course, going on last year's form, it will be mighty Providence that trips us up.
