FiveHole12, how's the popcorn?
Hahaha... good call. I'm sitting here eating lunch, signed on to check things out.
We even have an engineer in here! Enjoying my lunch immensely!
Carry on all. :)

as of right now, hockey east would have six teams out of the 16 team tourney field. anyone know where to find hockey east's record against the other conferences?

you can talk about how this might be a down year for hockey east, but i think the point is if you look around the country...you'll come to the same conclusion about the other conferences.

no chance for 6 and prob not 5

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

kind of like watching Bird, McHale and Parish. We all know how critical Jerry Sichting and Henry Finkell were...

Hank Finkel ended his playing days with the Celtics in the mid 70's or about 5 years before the Big 3 were assembled. The one that wasn't critical to the success of 2 of those teams was KC Jones. He just rolled out the ball and said "go get 'em guys" .He knew to stay out of the way

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

Didn't Hokydad once say that PC was the best academic school in Hockey East? His kid probably got into PC and not BC.

my daughter was accepted at BC and rejected at PC, a head scratcher if you ask me

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

"Hockey East is having a down year"

Says the ECAC fan, from a league also having a great year. In fact, with the exception of AHA, we have plenty of teams from all conferences nicely rounding out the top 20.

I think the Hoky to English translation is "my team is dominating the ECAC and is finally relevant as of the last five seasons or so, so I am going to narrow my scope of analysis and assume everyone else just sucks"

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

BC is a one trick pony with a number one goalie now in hand. A very good one trick pony. Hockdy East is off, other teams focus on that line and plan around it.

Hockey East is way off. Teams focus 100% of energy trying to shut them down. Other lines greatly benefit by matching up vs their 3rd lines...
wow, every team sending all best vs and cant stop.

if you think other coaches look at it differently you are delusional. when it counts if they don't stop them, they lose, period...
trust me when I tell you the coaches out there would pay to have hayes back on his old line
Strategy. Jerry York is the master of it. Go ahead, shut them down. We will find other ways to win.
In meaningful games, to date: See Beanpot.

Show me a top college or NHL team that doesn't stack one or two lines. Minnesota's first line has their top 3 scorers. Union's top line has top 2 scorers and 8th scorer, but best center man. Union also has 2 D that are #3 & #4 in scoring.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

Lost in all this mess, and reverting back to losing....

The Home team has last line change, therefore controls the match ups! This is the ultimate strategic advantage.
Just one more very large reason that... losing sucks! ;)

at least you didn't waste the day talking about same old bs over and over again....

ERRONEOUS!!! ERRONEOUS!!!

kc was critical for the fact that he WASN'T bill fitch!! :D

Admissions is a perplexing thing. Those are two great schools though so getting in to either is quite an accomplishment.

let's call them 'very good'. great is for hall of famers. dustin pedoria is very good. not great, not yet...

i hate the proliferation of usage of 'great'.

agree and my post was not meant to be a slight at PC, but just sayin

well, i suppose but Fitch at least could coach. The players hated him and at the end, tuned him out. KC, I love KC but he was clueless as a coach

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

and needless to say, NEITHER game of the best HE home and home series of the year (and don't tell me the schedule makers didn't know this was a strong possibility) is on NESN. I will be at both, but seriously??

hope they win....

just look at every boxcore since hc gm. shocking thd % you see the top kines names factored in

kns trick oony and now with a great lead driver in the goalue, which wss key to sort out

Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life. But in your case, we'll make an exception.
