Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

Always the coolest fact about that show IMHO. She is arguably more popular than the Joker as well...

I will white out the quote, but this little sequence had me rolling with how she said it (facial expressions/etc):
Harley Quinn: What was that? I should kill everyone and escape? Sorry, it's the voices. Ahaha, I'm kidding! That's not what they really said.

Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

That whited out part isn't a spoiler. It was in the trailer.

I accept it wasn't perfect but that was a really fun movie. Margot Robbie was the star, and not just because she's sizzling hot. Her portrayal of Harley Quinn was spot-on. Jared Leto reinvented the Joker and I so can't wait for a sequel or spinoff to see more of him and his relationship with Harley.

The whole team has chemistry and I really cared about them. The back story (and the way it was revealed) for Diablo was done very well.

The film brings the funny which makes it so much more watchable than other blockbusters this summer. I saw it in a packed theater which is always a positive with a good movie. I sat down and realized the people next to me were senior citizens and groaned. But they loved it and responded to the story the same as the Millenials in front of me. F the critics. See this in the theater. 8.5 out of 10. Movie of the summer, maybe of the year.

The fans seem to be loving it which is great. Screw the critics :)

I get some of the criticism. The villain was weak and the ending was telegraphed. One of the major differences between this movie and others I have seen this summer is that I was enjoying myself. It wasn't boring like ID:R or stupid like Ghostbusters. It was much better in other ways, but if I'm having a good time I can overlook some flaws.

Hopefully seeing the movie will change my mind but there's not a trailer that makes me excited for her character.

I didn't know that line was in the trailer. I had only seen the teaser trailer a while back.

As for the audience at my showing, it was kind of funny. I sat about 2/3 up from the screen, dead center. 1 guy sat about 1/2 up from the screen, dead center, and the other guy there sat about 1/4 up from the screen, dead center. I *almost* had the whole place to myself (the others walked in about a minute before the previews started).

I bought tickets yesterday for the 10AM Sunday show. At that point, I bought the first ticket to the show (reserved seating theater). It'll be interesting to see how many more people are there.

Got the 10 AM for tomorrow morning myself. About 6 or 7 other reserved recliners at the moment. I figure the churchin' crowd will be busy doing their thing, so this should be a modestly attended showing.

Well the people who are registered on RT as fans seemed to enjoy the movie. Of the 76k ratings the average is 3.8 out of 5. Seemed to be the consensus on the geek site I used to go to and they usually rate lower cause they are hipster nerds ;)

Hey Scoob question...did you enjoy the cameos at all? I liked them but I am a bit biased :p

Viola Davis?

She mo' def kicked some serious arse.

The Fear Of 13:

I don't even know the right words for this.

Interview with a lifer/death row inmate, and his story. You don't even hear the questions, it's just him telling how things happened.
Amazing. Captivating. Brutal Honesty. Mesmerizing. I wanted to give it a 4.5 but ended up giving it a 5, a whole benefit of the rawness it had.

Thinking back, b/c that was a lot to take in, not having knowledge of the movie/characters in general...Will Smith played, get this, Will Smith. He was funny and all, ok job, but he didn't SELL his character like the guy who played Diablo or Margot Robbie.

I can't think of a film where he didn't do the same thing. Pursuit of Happyness maybe? I would say Ali, but I think they're pretty similar I personality.

I Am Legend and Hancock break from type, IMO.

Will Smith is Will Smith. You generally know what you're getting. But even though I won't see it for another 9 hours, I respect that he did Suicide Squad rather than the easy, phone-it-in ID sequel cash grab.
