Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

He said after the last one was released that he was tired, the production of the Bond movies is just very stressful.

You're being polite. He said after the last one he would rather slit his wrists than play Bond again.

Oh, and it wasn't 50,000,000 total.

It was $50,000,000 PER FILM.

I never read that exact quote, just heard reports that he was tired.

Yeah he said it...he also said if he ever made another one it would be about the money only.

As a movie fan, I appreciate that an actor didn't mail in a performance just to collect a paycheck.

As a person though... IT'S A HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS!!!!!eleventy!!!!

Well he doesnt need the money ;)

The Red Baron (2008)

VERY loosely based biopic on the Baron. Entertaining movie, for sure, but don't expect a ton of facts until the end (with the standard "what happened to them" summary). Good time-killer.

So Joy sucked.

If you saw any trailer or description of this movie before going to it I have no sympathy. That had dreck written across is in indelible marker.

On the good side, "Nashville," the "Joy" of television, has been canceled.

Jennifer Lawrence received an Oscar nomination (win?) for her role. It might have come to the point where she does one non-superhero movie in the year and she'll get an auto-nomination.

Divorced-mom-reinvents-self-becomes-rich-through-grit-determination-you-go-girl is pure Oscar bait. Just throw in a blind black man, a troubled Mexican teen, or a cyber-bullied trans girl who went looking for the real life Hello Kitty but found... herself!

Jesus Christ, I had not one iota of interest in seeing that, and that was even before I knew it was based on the life of HSN skank Joy Mangano.

Loved Deadpool as it was just pure (albeit a bit dark) fun. Only wish I could have let the boys (12 and 13) watch it with me.

I finally watched Straight Outta Compton. Great movie and it forced me to go back and read up on the guys some more. I had forgotten how much of an influence Suge Knight was at that time on Dr. Dre leaving the band. And then Heller says he made a mistake in talking Eazy-E out of killing Suge...****! Great acting and a great story, and it's the story of many artists unfortunately. Grow up poor, have a **** ton of talent, a manager takes you on you make it big and you see very little of your money. Heller still can't explain where the money went! Priority records as well, the record industry are vampires.

As to Joy - I agree it sucked. Went to see it with my fiance and it was, along with Foxcatcher, one of the worst movies I've seen in the past 2 years. I think the only reason to green light a movie like that is they somehow convinced Bobby D and Bradley Cooper to be in it.

and speaking of Bobby D...Martin Scorsese got the funding to make the movie The Irishman, based on the book "I Heard You Paint Houses" - GREAT GREAT book. Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, Al Pacino and I think Harvey Keitel will all be in this one...REALLY looking forward to it
