Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

How stiff are the penalties?

Dude, I gave you the section of the North Dakota Century Code already (62.1-02-04). :)
http://www.legis.nd.gov/cencode/t62-1c02.pdf?20150424143119

Bar - A misdemeanor
Public gathering - B misdemeanor

What I find interesting is that I've seen 62.1-02-04 broken a lot under the "dangerous weapon" provision. In ND a "dangerous weapon" (62.1-02-01) is defined as a "knife with a blade of five inches [12.7 centimeters] or more". Gravity knives (and butterfly knives) come under the heading as well.

I forgot to mention:

Last weekend, I was a little lost while in downtown Mpls. Only 2nd time in 4 years I had been down there. Trying to find a certain parking ramp. Saw a cop walking the beat. Hispanic cop. He actually had the NERVE to help me out when I asked him. Imagine that. What a horrible cop.

I'm sure you have a point.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Yeah. Not all cops are bad. Most cops are good. My post is what is called "snark."

I don't think anyone has suggested that good cops don't exist. However, it has been suggested that bad cops don't exist. The evidence seems to contradict that...

I don't think anyone has said bad cops don't exist. I think most have said that bad cops are in the minority. I think bad cops are in the news BECAUSE it's a rarity. I have mentioned before, it's like plane/car crashes. Plane crashes are in the news more than car crashes, because they are rarer than car crashes; that's why they are newsworthy.

Clearly you haven't been paying attention here. He only helped you because you're white. He'd have shot you if you weren't

ETA: I'm sorry. I just read this and realized it's hyperbole at it's finest. The cop would have just tazered you

Except they're not really a rarity anymore.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Yep. That's it. Totally.

Show the cops respect (or anyone, for that matter) and you may find they show you the same courtesy. Funny how that works out.

That must be why the criminals at Bundy's Ranch got away with pointing their rifles at police officers...because of respect.

While I was out getting lunch a sheriff pulled in beside me. I didn't feel any apprehension because hey, I'm white! But I let him go first because I didn't want a ticket for some made up charge. Lucky I did. I was still waiting to leave the lot when his lights started flashing and he pulled someone over. They weren't speeding, didn't seem to be driving erratically, but got pulled over anyway. I'm sure they had a busted taillight or something.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Unfortunately, it doesn't always work like that.

Oh come on. What's the worst that could happen besides lying on a slab in the morgue with a bullet in the back of your head? Pansy.

This anecdote is supposed to be an indictment of cops or of your ****ant attitude?
