Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

Bump!! OK, so it's my birthday today, clap clap clap yes, clap clap clap thank you, clap clap clap come on now, clap clap clap you're too kind.clap clap clap..and I was thinking, what an awesome birthday present it would be to get the sweep. Man those guys we're a determined bunch. Lots of effort, speed everything. That save Chevrie made and the ensuing goal was so sweet. I saw it developing and was sure they were going to score and that we were in for a heart breaker. This team, DU, is special. They don't seem to care if they don't score first, they never give up and scoring can come from just about anywhere!! I sure would like to see Salazar again. Is he in the doghouse? and Brookwell needs to come back. So, those are my thoughts for today, I will proudly wear my DU sweatshirt today and see you on the scoring thread tonight!!

Go DU!!!!

Happy Birthday Dmann.

Here's hoping the boys make this birthday S W E E T and S W E E P!

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

Salazar needs to score points when he plays, and my guess is since he was struggling point-wise, he's been benched for guys that have more versatility in their game.

Last night was a little wierd - almost like DU didn't know how to play with a big lead because they haven't had one in a while. Then in the third, they took over again.

The boys played a 55 minute game last night. The last 5 minutes of the 2nd period were not memorable. DU has to cut down on the turnovers and make the safe play rather than giving the puck to the opponent in the middle of the ice.

Happy birthday. Going for four points tonight.

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

Thanks for all the birthday wishes you guys!! I'm so excited for tonight's game. Maimi lost last night, so the #1 ranking is ours to lose!! I don't know if you guys noticed, but things are getting pretty lively over on the CC/UAA thread. What's with all the hostility this season?

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

BTW, DU posters, if you want have a sense about deja vu all over again, check out the UAA/CC thread. Seems there's a big fracas over an injury to a UAA player and whether it was obvious he was hurt, and how seriously, and did he return to the game, etc. etc.

And our friend Suze is right in the middle of it, practicing medicine (this time based on a RADIO broadcast), and doing a funny spelling on Wiercioch's name.
Didn't an elderly DU poster get hammered for doing the same thing with Kane LaFranchise's name? And insisting, still, that Patrick wasn't hurt. Zero class.

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

Anybody seen the replay of Miani's disallowed goal last night? Sandy and Jay were saying they thought it should of stood as a goal.

Suze sucks--arguably the worst fan on USCHO. God help me...I'm agreeing with Pioneers, but I promise I won't make it a regular habit. Looking forward to next week--CC and DU are both playing excellent hockey.

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

Old Pio: I think Suze is going through a bit of a crazy phase. Be patient with her until the hallucinogens wear off.

Overall a great effort last night. Maiani, Martin, Rakhshani, Knowlton--good stuff! I don't want a mere freshman to get a big head, but Donovan looked smooth as silk out there. His goal reminded me a bit of Caldwell's goal in the Frozen Four vs. UMD. Plus, he had a nice hit at mid ice that sent a Husky reeling. Shore played with great tenacity and hustle. But I think that he'd develop some better vision and composure with the puck if he slowed it down just a bit.

Too bad about the mini-meltdown that let SCSU back into the game, but one must work hard for 60 minutes against quality teams like SCSU--50 minutes ain't gonna cut it. There were also some defensive lapses a couple of minutes after Donovan's goal, and we're lucky that SCSU didn't make it 5-4 wid' a quickness.

Get the sweep tonight! 10-3-1 and tied for first with CC would be a great way to head into December.

 For your information, Vidmar has a season ending MCL tear. He left in the first period and didn't return. And I am not your "friend". If you want to know the real story, try reading all the posts. I did not get my info about the injury from the radio, but from Shyiak, it was in the game recap.

As for Patrick, I already said I probably over reacted and I did apologize early on. You were too bullheaded to see it, thats why Duper had to point it out to you. If your coach doesn't want to be labeled a liar, I suggest he tell the truth. Same goes for players. Did I over react when I said he wasn't injured, yep, as I already stated. Sorry Patrick.

How on earth did she get a good reputation? She's still refusing to apologize to Patrick Wiercioch for claiming/suggesting/implying that the kid was lying about being hurt. Most adults, even highly partisan ones, when they realize they're wrong, walk back. Not the Ice Princess.

We're all looking forward to next week too, but we've all got business tonight.

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

DU and cc tied for 1st in the WCHA.
Gold Pan rivalry
Arch enemies for 50 or 60 years

It will be a great weekend for hockey

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

Hope the Pioneers bring the same intensity this weekend as they did against UND, otherwise, they could be in for trouble. Gotta get the Gold Pan back.

And I just noticed our friend "Dr." Suze edited her post and apologized for her attacks on Patrick Wiercioch. Like the old commercial said: "Aunt Jemima, what took you so long?" In the final analysis, though, she did the right thing. Given pranging she got, it couldn't have been easy.

Speaking of intensity, the Pioneers really looked quite disinterested for most of Saturday's game against SCSU. The Huskies played with much more fire and were deserving of the win, but this Saturday malaise DU has this year (2-4-1) needs to be fixed. DU is perfect on Fridays (7-0) but can't close out series against teams they should beat. This is a character issue that needs to change.

I say this every year -- I never get very angry when DU plays hard and gets beat - that's hockey. Sometimes even when the effort is there, the other team is better.

But when they don't play hard, like tonight, and lose -- that really ticks me off. These guys only have two games a week, and it should not be that hard to come out with some fire and passion for a league game at home.

Watching the first 2 periods last was almost painful. Disinterested, flat, uninspired....

Rakh's breakaway, Ruegs determined goals, Martin's continued play and a little step on the start of a Maiani comeback were the only highlights--10 minutes of a 60 minute game--won't win in any league.

And really we can't expect Chevy to have shutouts every game, not even 2 out of 3. This is a 60 minute, team game.
