On another topic, what men's basketball team has a higher RPI at this moment than North Carolina, Ohio State, Michigan State, Boston College, Utah, Oregon, Virginia, Washington State, Oregon State, Baylor, Iowa State, Michigan, Colorado, Nebraska, Providence, Georgia, Wake Forest, USC, Oklahoma, Houston, Memphis, Stanford, UMass, Rutgers, Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana (among many others?).

The answer? Denver. The Pios are 4-1 so far this year with an RPI of 125 out of 300+ D-I teams.

Even with DU playing a crappy game last night, they only lost by 1. If they had played more than 10 minutes of hockey yesterday there is a good chance they would have won or tied. Kudos to SCSU for doing what they needed to do to win the game. I can't wait for Lasch and Roe to graduate or leave. :rolleyes: ;)

Bump and amen to that!! These guys were the SCSU version of Chad Rau , DU killers. But man, what talent!!

Aeros beat the Toronto Marlies 2-1 in OT on Saturday with Rau getting both Aeros' goals. Dubie was the Aeros' goalie. Testwuide didn't play for the Aeros and Bozak didn't play for the Marlies as he is out with an injury.

From one of the stories written about the game in The Canadian Press.

Game Notes: Toronto centre Tyler Bozak missed his second straight game with an undisclosed injury. The two teams combined for just 11 shots in the first period. Houston goalie Wade Dubielewicz hasn't given up more than two goals in a game for six straight contests, but this was his first win in that stretch.

UND was the only top team not to lose so I'd say they were the least inept. :p

But they did blow a 2 goal lead to the Florida school on Saturday and ended up kissing their sister. :D

I put no stock in this ranking whatsoever. Smoke and Mirrors.

DU is quite far from a number one team right now in my book.

Offense? 21st Nationally at 3.0 GPG
Defense? 21st Nationally at 2.71 GPG
Power Play? 28th Nationally at 18.3%
Penalty Killing? 14th Nationally at 86.1%
Combined Special Teams? 25th Nationally at 50%

The Pios have had two great weekends this season - one at Minnesota (a now struggling program) and at home against UND.
The Pios are 2-4-1 on Saturdays.
The Pios have fallen behind in every single game but the Chevy shutouts.

This team has a lot to prove to show they belong in the top 5, let alone the top spot....

I don't give much creedence to the polls and right now there is no clear cut #1 team IMHO. DU may be 2-4-1 on Saturdays but Adam Murray is 0-3-1 on Saturdays and Chevy is 2-1-0. If Chevy had played some of those games that Adam played on Saturdays, the results might have been different and DU would have a couple of more wins.

I actually thought they might start Murray this past Saturday against SCSU. I guess he's now destined to spend a lot of the season on the bench and work out his issues in practice.

IF DU Can't sweep CC this weekend it ain't ever going to happen. DU is on break and can focus only on hockey mired in the 4th Block of the year in their academic calender.

The series will come down to how DU handles the amazing CC power play and how well Chevy steps up. If Chevy plays like he did against UND, DU has a great chance to do well. If he plays like he did against SCSU (average), DU will have a hard time with the Tigers.
