Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

I'm just curious when that little dweeb 'Dubbie 31' will show his face again???

Stupid, little, Howdy Doody wannabe had the tenacity to question/challenge (and act like he was so frickin' correct) my knowledge on the recent scoring thread. **** him......

Have you checked the UAA thread? Lotta free thinkers over there.

Chris - You are 100% correct in your interpretation of the rule, but I think you may be coming down a little hard on dubbie31. Unless I am missing something In post #313 of the scoring thread, he obviously thought he knew the right answer by starting his post with the word "absolutely correct" but then he rattled off a couple of "I thinks" in there, which would indicate he probably wasn't really sure of his answer as he thought he was....

Of course, you know the right answer,as would be expected with your access.

Could you have set dubbie straight without the extra personal shots?

I'm a little surprised we weren't ranked #1 with INCH this week, but I guess it's not all that significant anyway. I'm still shocked at what CC has done so far this year. I know sweeping Robert Morris is is no big deal and I haven't seen who they've played so far this year, but I suspect they have had an easier schedule so far than we have. Even so, I really expected them to be struggling this year, what the Hell?

Before the season, I was telling everyone who would listen that CC would be much better than a lot of people were saying they would be. They have a lot of seniors on that team, and in a league like the WCHA, a senior-laden team can win you a lot of games with experience. They have also had excellent goaltending from their freshman (Howe), and when you have seniors and goaltending, you can make a lot of progress.

The big surprise to me at CC has been the strength of the power play.

The Tigers have a tougher second half schedule, which may catch up with them a bit, but the Tigers are full value for what they've earned this year. DU will have their hands full trying to get the Gold Pan back.

CC so far. Not the most difficult of schedules but they took 3 points from Wisconsin in Madison split with Northeastern and UMD at home. They have beaten everyone the should have in MTU, MSU and RMU. Only tough road opponent has been Wisconsin. They have UAA at home next weekend, the DU series in two weekends and SCSU on the road in three. They have yet to play a top 10 team.

Oh for the love of God, I guess they're never gonna really suck again. They have been a really good team since like, 1993  **** it!! Oh well, I guess it's better for the rivalry!!

On another note, there is a strong possibilty I might be in Denver in Feb., the week of the Minn series and the Tech series!! I haven't been back in 3 years!! We're due for a visit to the mother-in-law:eek:   . I would love to see some of you guys and maybe even get a Spanky burger.

That quote has context. It's from my question about the power play that scored the GWG, where Denver kept the Sioux pinned in their end for almost two minutes before scoring.
Reading comprehension has never been their strong suit. Thanks for putting the quote in context and great articles this weekend. :)

How can you read something that isn't in the article to begin with? :p :D
Maybe you should have said that psychic abilities have never been their strong suit. ;) :)

If Arafel/shrader hack wouldn't have posted the full quote, we never would have known.

I blame Alanna Rizzo.

Are Sioux fans still whining about this weekend? Face it. Denver is the class of the league.

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

Sweep, sweep, sweep!!!

Great weekend for the Pioneers. Colborne is getting back into form, and the Chevy is rolling. Nice to see Maiani improving his game, too.

As to the reffing--yeah, six penalties in a row is rather harsh in most situations, so I wouldn't blame UND for feeling a little slighted. But UND does take a lot of penalties, and I'm guessing that most of them were justified. As for Hextall pushing Chevy--duh! Shades of Matt Greene in the 05 championship game. Seems that Hakstol can't control his goons/pests at the critical times.

By the way, I love when Hakstol gets that fake "serious and stern" look on his face--I'm glad he didn't pursue a career in acting, cause it's kind of funny to watch.

As for the no-goal in the last minute on Saturday--I was hoping that UND didn't get jobbed on that one, so I was glad that the replay showed it to be a legit call. When the refs give you a 6-3 opportunity, no one to blame but yourself for not converting. Just ask the Maine Black Bears.

Brian--nice to read your insights this weekend. Good luck the rest of the way, and I hope you don't get too much revenge on us in the 2nd series.

Are you thinking of Prpich, when he took a sip from Mannino's water bottle? :)

Hakstol is always serious and stern, I don't think that's an act. ;)

I only wish the Sioux had as long of a 6x3 as Maine did against DU. With only 40sec, there's not a ton of time to win the draw, set things up and get it to the net more than once or twice.

Thanks Pablo. Good luck to DU until the Jan series as well, although I don't think DU will need too much luck this season. They certainly look tough. I was pleased with the way our young Sioux team stayed with the more experienced DU team this weekend. Sure, not getting any points is certainly not ideal, but they put themselves in a position to win both games. If this Sioux team can keep progressing (and have their usual 2nd half surge), UND will be a team that no one wants to face come playoff time. :)

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

DU up to # 2 in USCHO Poll. UND drops to 4th and CC climbs to 5th

I hope UND knocks off those two Ohio schools this weekend. Good for the PWR.

I would call Prpich's move more of the "pest" variety, and Greene's penalties as more of the "goon" variety. Ha ha. As I recall, Prpich's play didn't result in a penalty, but Greene had 1 or 2 costly penalties.

Yeah, Hakstol always looks kinda stern. But there was this one look on Friday that they showed on TV, where he was trying hard to take it to the next level. It was kind of like "Blue Steele" from Zoolander, but much, much angrier.

Gwoz and Hakstol seem to bring out some strange behavior in each other, but Gwoz is winning the bizarro battle so far.

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

For both of us. ;) :)

Barring any major injuries from hereon in, I see a high probability of DU and UND meeting in St. Paul in the WCHA Championship and possibly in the NCAAs. They are definitely the two best teams in the league.
