I just looked at the USCHO and USA Today polls. I was shocked to see that the word "Colorado" doesn't appear ANYWHERE in either poll! I did see the word "Denver" though. Strange.

The Monty Weds radio show is on right now 102.3 ESPN Denver. He already referred to CC as the Kittens....I like this guy. I don't think they are taking callers or questions texted in this year. Bummer. That was my specialty.

He absolutely understands the CC rivalry....very important. This is coming from a guy who played Maine-BU and Maine-BC. Good to hear from Monty. I get the sense that NOBODY on this DU team will not FULLY understand this, come Friday morning.

I hope that's true. My sense the last several years is that CC has been more dialed in than we are, for whatever reason.

I'm really shocked by the lack of posting and trash talk about this game. Where is everybody? Does CC not suck anymore??? We need to see to it that this new Coach of theirs gets a proper welcome to Magness Arena....in the form of a big fat L.....and we better make him aware to get used to getting beat by Denver for years to come! WTH people, Is anybody going to this game besides me and my wife??? Evan has to be chomping at the bit to get this game going. All the DU Goalies before him who anticipated starting in net for this game are with him.... BEAT CC

CC still sucks, perhaps too much. All their posters have escaped to ****tier places. It's rough. Mike Haviland has a very hard row to hoe. I'm sure they'll show up, but if DU doesn't win by 3, it'll be a disappointment

There is new chatter on the Coors Field outdoor game next year for the Avs...now being called very likely. No mention of DU though.Maybe the ECHL will get in on it

Most times they try to maximize the use of the surface for the time that the ice is down. There have been kid's league, high school, men's and women's college and minor league games at several of the venues. Obviously, the NHL game is the primary game and until it is announced by the league all other games are strictly speculation. I wouldn't expect any announcements about non-NHL games until well after the original awarding of the AVs game by the league. I am sure there will be exploratory discussions with other groups to gauge some speculation.

In hotlanta waiting for my flight home. Doesn't leave for 2 hours. I hate when there are no non-stop flights from point A to B. What should have been a 3 plus hour trip is an 8 hour trip

Monty said Weds night, that World Arena had something booked for Sat back this summer. So they agreed to play game 2 in Feb . Then CC called back, asking to change it back to normal because thier concert canceled, but DU had already published the schedule and printed tickets....so they both agreed to leave it as is. Just goes to show you.....CC arena is so bad, even Justin Bieber won't do a show there!

I've been on USCHO IR this fall- just started doctoral research, lots going on at work, Jr. Pioneer on the way...

But after a long week, tonight's game was very satisfying. I honestly do feel bad for CC, they are really, really not good. I don't know if they have 7 wins in them this year, it was that bad.

Also, with not sure you leave Moore and Heinen out of the Three Stars, Moore was all over the place all night.

Best to all of you if it takes me another few months to post again.
 
Heinen looks really good. A year or so, and he might be rockstar status. As for CC sucking....yes, they do....but for crap's sake...look at MTU....proof positive that any team can turn around. I think they'll get that team on the right track. They have some NHL draft picks....it won't happen overnight. Look at Ken Hitchcock taking over the Dallas Stars....he sure fixed thier problems back then.

For sure, it's a tough situation to turn around. From what I read, Haviland is a good coach, but it's not going to be a fun year or two for them until his systems and recruiting have some time to right the ship.

If the Fighting North Dakotas ever slumped this hard I would be gleeful, but always wary of their pesky in-season turnarounds.
