Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

Before Raoul (the smiling orderly with the magic fingers) starts my sponge bath, let me just say that I'll be sympathetic to CC after about a decade's worth of major suckage. These are, after all, the same twerps who refused to play us for a season (and our "league" let them get away with it) just because we went up into the stands at the Broadmoor to dish out some well deserved justice. For now, I'm overwhelmed with schadenfreude. And it surely beats what Raoul's got to offer.

No one is interested in hearing the sordid details of yet another lurid interlude during which Raoul plays with your rubber duck. Frankly, it's repulsive.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

Monty said on the post-game ride home, that the AF game scares him because it's a typical trap game. Everyone is looking forward to Wisconsin. And wth is up with THAT? I've heard about 4 people in the media and interviews already say the Badger game is going to be "FUN". ??? Are they giving away door prizes? Free beer? Circus trapeze performers above the ice? Boone body surfing on the Zamboni? Chuck A Puck? Pony rides???? I sure hope DU has thier head on straight....because the Falcons - and Badgers for that matter, are not coming here for cotton candy and 3 legged burlap bag races. They're coming to knock DU on thier behinds. What's so friggin great about Wisconsin???? This will be a big test for Monty, to have his team ready to play hard.

Badgers should have a victory after playing cc Friday.
Although tiggies have a better record 2-7-0 vs 0=6=0:o

Here's where I repeat my anecdote (seriously?) that in 25 years as a head coach Tom Osborne lost just one game to a team that finished below .500. In other words, for a quarter of a century with only one exception, he always beat the teams he was supposed to beat. His PhD is in educational psychology. Keeping a team focused on the job at hand and not looking ahead is among the toughest and most important goals for any head coach.

Hard to hold a grudge against a kid going to West Point. Too bad he doesn't play football, when they played AFA my great nephew would turn him into a grease spot.

Ah.. if only the internet were larger I could provide a full answer. 'Will Butcher' will have to suffice, though. ;)

Last time Bucky was in the midst of an early season meltdown, (2012) the Pio's provided relief with a tie and a win for UW at Magness that got them rolling to a 20-6 finish. A bit crass of us I suppose to never really say thank you, let alone ask you to do it again, but here we are.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

With Arizona State starting its D-1 program next year I can see DU [as well as AFA and CC] playing the Sun Devils in non-conference games in the future.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

Considering how quiet it was last week for a DU-cc game, thought we must have missed something...and we did.

>Beau Bennett began his season skating on the Pens 4th line. And this week he had a goal and 2 assists against the Habs

>Joe Paisley.featured the DU-cc rivalry starring DU's Luke Fulghum and some guy from cc.

>And then on Sunday night former cc tiggie/Winnipeg's Mark Stuart must have been trying to get even for the kitten's drubbing by rubbing Jason Zucker's face into the ice

Joey LaLeggia's 100th point is a major accomplishment, but IMHO Trevor Moore was the #1 Star on Friday

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

From the Wisconsin thread
as of 11/20/14.

MI Tech is #1 in the country and UW is winless.
Hell has indeed frozen over.

@DU_Hockey senior F Ty Loney is having minor knee surgery Friday and obviously out for games vs Air Force & Wisconsin this weekend. Also ..

Mike Chambers ‏@MikeChambers 4h4 hours ago
DU senior F Zac Larraza is questionable with upper body. Pios host Air Force on Friday and Wisconsin on Saturday

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

Nope it was Northern Arizona, and sometimes they masqueraded as USIU too.

After NAU announced it was folding the team, I recall walking in to the coffee shop at Writer's Manor, and there was Ralph, recruiting two NAU players.
