On an unrelated note, the new server must have been expensive. USCHO has seriously upped their advertising, between the little slide-in ads and the paid links that have appeared in recent weeks.

I have USCHO Extra so I don't get the ads but it did ask me today to reset my password. I had used the same password since I originally joined a long time ago.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

My posting abilities were turned off all of yesterday. Must have been the server switch, too.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

I'm in favor of that, if the actual name of the award is the "Sammy," as opposed to, like, the "Sam Brittain NCHC Goalie of the Week." :)

Then all they'd need to do is find a very short one-eyed Jewish guy, married to a gorgeous Scandanavian actress, who can sing, dance, act, do world class impressions and play multiple instruments to make the presentation.

Going to enjoy this week as #1 in the NCHC, a weekend sweep, Sammy's 3rd shutout, NCHC #1 in Power Play and Penalty Kill. And the fact that PioVision was adroit enough to air the Root broadcast of the 1st period Friday when there must have been a problem with the regular audio stream.

Saturday's video was streamed to WMU Insiders and they commented the picture was far better than their usual one.

Fun Factoid: While playing only half the games John Lee has 2 more goals than Drew Shore for the San Antonio Rampage. 2 for John 0 for Drew, but he does have 7 assists.

I assume you were able to clear up your screen issue on the laptop.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

The University of Denver hockey program welcomed a special new member to the Pioneer family on Tuesday afternoon as 14-year old Adam Encrapera was signed to a ceremonial letter of intent and will be an honorary member of the team for the 2013-14 season.

“The hockey program is very excited that Adam signed a letter of intent,” Denver head coach Jim Montgomery said. “We are really excited to have Adam help out with what we are trying to accomplish, on and off the ice. It is very special to have him a part of the Pioneer family and the tradition of Denver hockey.”

Full Story and Pictures on DU website

Props to Wade Bennett for getting the ball rolling on this and a big welcome to Adam!!!!!

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

Just want to say that CC really, really SUCKS this year. They have scored only one goal in each of their last four games. The Falcons roll at the toilet tonight 3-1. Second straight win for AF at the toilet and 3rd of last six there. CC had a 5 on 3 late in the third for over a minute and you guessed it...no conversion. Not surprising--their pp (lower case) is 59th in the country 5%!!! P-u-s-s-y cat power play. Looks like the streak staying alive is a lock for the 13-14 season. Off with the ugly guys head? Maybe they'll hire Gwoz! Next up @ Cadet Ice Arena Friday is the PIOS. Saw that the DU ticket office has discounted seats. Get your butt in the car people. That rink is the coolest college barn west of the mighty Mississippi.

I agree. The Cadet Ice Arena is one of the most intimate venues to watch college hockey. Called the DU ticket office last week. They said the game was sold out and they wouldn't be able get tickets. Now they have discount tickets. The DU ticket office seems to be a bit out of sorts this year. So tonight I'll be watching former DU kids play hockey at the Eagles game. Friday I'll be watching former DU kids play hockey at the Cutthroats game. And Saturday we'll see how Monty's boys do against former DU coach Frank Serratore's Air Force cadets at DU.

On a related military note, what happened to DU's joint effort with the Marine Corps with Toys for Tots? DU seems to have some sort of bring a toy program going on. But I can't tell who they are. Maybe it's just the local tv station. Maybe DU explains who they are on the new advertising ribbon but I try to ignore that as much as possible. Anyone know what the deal is?
