Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

We had a great time tonight. I do have a question tho, the Tiger who basically tried to break Doremus' neck in the corner.....why did he not get kicked out like Denver's guy did? That was a nasty hit. Thank goodness our guy wasn't waylayed. That's dangerous stuff. I thought about Jesse Martin. CC scum. Enjoy your LOSS, retard. That's not hockey. The pan stays here, beotch!

If they're going to call Romig for 5, they should have called that one too. They weren't going to call it at all initially.

Pan is not quite clinched. Need at least one point in February.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

Good win for the Pioneers tonight. Wish they would actually televise the game. Did Bill Wirtz come back from the dead and take over the decision making at the school?

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

Are there any CC fans left on the USCHO boards??

"World Arena North" didn't work out so well tonight for them.

It's funny...when the current USCHO board started up in '99, plus the old old board from '95-99, there were many cc fans and they outnumbered DU fans 10-1. They thought they were the chit. Turns out they are just a bunch of lame-*** pantywaists who just went *poof* and literally disappeared.

Anyhow...It was great to see the guys hang on and win, they needed it.

A few thoughts:

-DU's PP and PK are both top 10 nationally.
-Sam is top 5 nationally in both GA and SVS
-Sam is having a historic season, people better realize
-How the heck were there only 6 minor penalties assessed for that melee?
-DU was probably at least a bit lucky to not have cc awarded a penalty shot late in the game
-DU's top 3 goal scorers are d-men (***?)
-Got reminded tonight that the cc fan known as Ron Mexico literally has a twin brother.
-Spotted the Mermis at the game, hanging with the scratched guys and accompanying them towards the locker room between periods and after the game...

"Huh, huh, huh he said poof." I believe the correct term is poofter.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

Share your disappointment with the lack of DU on the tube, since I get the satellite sports package with Root and Altitude. (Forget which is doing a couple of games later in the season.) Sure sounds like both teams were offensively challenged all weekend. I saw CC in Kalamazoo last Saturday night and they were pretty brutal, especially in the 2nd period. Western Michigan is young (isn't everyone these days with early pro exits?) and is potentially dangerous but still inconsistent. Slubowski in goal could make for good pitchers' duels with Sam.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

Hmmm; I thought WMU was a wicked team? They're in the NCHC for a reason. Why do I remember them? Didn't they rough someone up in the playoffs or something like that? Denver plays the Broncos - there's a city-wide story line somewhere in there. So recently, I have been a proponent of playing the Cow.... and I repent. As long as Sam is hot keep him as the starter. Oh yeah - as a side note, a BIG thank you to SHANE CO, for the souviner give-away hand clappers last night. My kid is driving me flippin NuTs today, watching the Broncos NFL game. Why don't they give every 7 year old a friggin free drum set too???

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

I wonder who Colorado Collage Quinn Webb is.

A talking division of CC? A newly discovered John Denver lyric? A folk music group? A new Springs vegetarian sub shop? A proposed Rose Parade float?

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

Hey everyone, Badger fan here but fan of DU and sometimes CC games on FSRM/ROOT. In recent years is seems the DU games I could watch on DirecTV picked up as the year went on. But this year is seems so far very few is any games have been broadcast. I was stunned when I didn't seen either of the DU/CC games being broadcast. Did I miss them somehow or is this just common for early in the season, or worse, part of some conference TV package?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think DU has been on TV yet. I believe there is one this weekend but I'm not sure which night.

Edit.... it is Friday's game.

DU's TV footprint is shrinking to near zero. The much ballyhooed NCHC schedule on CBS Sports Network only has two DU games.

DU 2013-14 RSRM TV Schedule

Western Michigan - Nov. 15
Air Force - Nov. 23
Brown - Jan. 3
St. Cloud State - Jan. 10
North Dakota - Jan. 25
Miami - March 7

Root Sports Games -Pioneer hockey coverage begins Friday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. MT, when DU hosts Western Michigan. The Pioneers' television schedule also includes matchups against Air Force (Nov. 23), Brown (Jan. 3), St. Cloud State (Jan. 10), North Dakota (Jan. 25) and Miami (March 7).

CBS Sports Games - UND (Jan. 24) and CC (Feb. 21)

Altitude - @CC (Feb. 22)

Most DU home games that are not televised are webcast for a fee on Pioneer Vision at www.denverpioneers.com.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

New committment per Twitter

Sebastien Fuchs (Kenai River Brown Bears, NAHL) has committed to University of Denver for 2015-2016. He is from Sweden and is the 2nd youngest player (just turned 17) on a very good team. He plays on the top line and is the 3rd leading scorer on the team. Lots of upside and I would expect him to move on from the NAHL next year.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

Belated congrats to the team for the "sweep" of CC. Technically win and a tie, but it's sweet to send home the CC faithful disappointed on both nights.

Sounds like Sam was a monster, and hopefully Butcher's suspension send some kind of message to the team--no shenanigans!

Still wish we had a Bozak or Stastny level player up front, but hopefully the forwards' play will develop as we go.

BTW, what is up with Makowski and his questionable icing of the puck. I saw him do that in the 2nd UNO game, and Stickney was talking about it happening in one of the CC games, too.
