Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Did you drive the Zamboni at the old DU Arena? If so probably should have gotten combat pay.
Always thought it would be fun to take a ride around the rink on that mechanical monster.

How about a little history:
The Zamboni Company acquired Model C11 in January of 2012 and it is currently being restored. The machine was originally delivered to Denver University in 1953.

I surely hope the Zamboni people believe in "diversity" and "moving forward" and plan to eradicate that horrible "hostile and abusive" image as part of the renovation. I remember watching that beast. Even then it reminded me of an episode of "World War I in Color."

If you raise over a quarter of a billion dollars for the University, if you contribute 50 million dollars yourself … feel free to change the mascot to a red tailed hawk. I love Boone but if Dan Ritchie wants a hawk, I’m good with it.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Alright, enough mystery. I'm going to solve this case once and for all. The answer is: Professor Plum, with the lead pipe, in the conservatory.

No, wait a minute. It's going to be: Denver, versus Lowell, in Providence.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

There seems to be some confusion in the Florida voting as voters are selecting the University of Miami in Coral Gables. :);)

They've got a great mascot. You don't see a manatee wearing skates and goalie pads everyday.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

With CC winning, DU up to 10 in PWR, only BC/BU game left tonight and BU leads BC 3-2 after 2

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Okay, there are still a zillionteen possible combinations of outcomes in games remaining this weekend. Here's one set of results which gets Denver as high as #8 in the PWR.

Canisius wins its tourney.
Either Miami or Ohio State winning the CCHA tourney.
Either Brown or Union winning the ECAC tourney.
Quinnipiac winning the third place ECAC game.
BU winning the HE tourney.
Wisconsin winning the WCHA tourney.

In this scenario a segment of the PWR would look like this:
5.Lowell
6t. NoDak
6t. UNH
8. Denver
9.Mankato
10.Niagara
11.Union
12t.Wisconsin
12t.Saint Cloud

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

DU is 100% in the tourney. Highest percentages indicate DU will be 9 (44.5%) or 10 (29.7%) in PWR. Highest they can get is 8 (17.2%) and lowest is 12 (1.6%). Only 7% chance to get to 11.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Greetings from St. Paul. What a crazy two days it has been up here. Pretty strange to watch CC use the same exact game plan that they used on us last weekend to beat the Sioux and then the Gophs. It was like Groundhog day. I walk away from the experience not feeling nearly as bad as I did last week having dropped two to CC. Howe has been rock solid and CC has stuck to their game plan completely. Both the Sioux and Gopher fans were so excited to draw the "easy" 8 seed only to be heartbroken. Cool to see the two long shots face each other in the final tomorrow. After all the work only one of them will be dressed for the dance next week. 9/10 games today go to the lower seed. Bottom line the tourney is going to be WILD!

Quoting Kid Shileen: "I'll drink to that. " Now we need a positive report on Shawn.

Excellent. I played with the PWR predictor a little bit, and I had them at 9 in every scenario I tried, sometimes in a 2-way or even 3-way tie for 9, but I couldn't find a scenario where they don't make it. Glad to see that I'm not the only one who couldn't find a way where they miss the tournament.

Couldn't agree with you more.

But aren't we talking about Coombe wanting to change the mascot to an ox/elk/miner/astronaut?

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

As of right now DU will be either the 9th (75%) seed or 10th (25%) seed. Still some games to go today and one tomorrow.
