Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

DU at #9 with 1 game to play tomorrow. And CC never won the Broadmoor........ The trophy will stay with the WCHA.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

To my untrained eye it looks like...

If Michigan wins the CCHA tourney Denver will play Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA event. If Notre Dame wins the CCHA tourney Denver likely will play UNH in the first round of the NCAA event.

That is what it looks like. DU locked in at #9 no matter whether Michigan or Notre Dame wins tomorrow.

Not for sure. You are assuming Minn St gets moved East. Committee might want Minn St in Midwest for attendance reasons. We won't draw in Midwest or East. Integrity of #3 seed line will disturbed.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

It was pretty weird sitting at a game pulling for the Tigers. I just couldn't root for Wisconsin. Between the Colorado solidarity, and the future conference solidarity, I just had to root for CC. Pretty fun game to go to, and I did run into one other DU fan. :)

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Pretty crazy that CC never won the Broadmoor trophy. That has to hurt that they came so close to doing it in their very last chance.

Looking forward to seeing where DU lands in the tourney. Can't say that I really care what seed they get, or where they go. Just glad that they appear to be in, and hope that they are healing up OK.

Off to Manchester...
DU has played all the teams in the regional

Good Times
5-1 win against Lowell Oct. 12

Bad Times
4-6 loss against New Hampshire (Foumas and Downing with hatties for UNH) Nov. 24
1-1 tie and 1-3 loss against Wisconsin 11/30 and 12/1

Should be fun. Who's organizing a Denver watch party? Was fun against WMU a couple years ago, I think that bar changed hands. Part of me likes that we're playing a team we lost to, part of me wishes we could have drawn BC :)

Going to be a fun tourny. BC got the cake draw. Yale got the short stick (but they earned it) :-). I like the UNH draw for DU in Manchester for the late game. Both teams have been resting. The revenge story line is a good one. I also love the Bucky/Riverhawk match-up. This regional will no doubt mess up a lot of people's brackets (including mine!). Gotta love the potential Gophs/Sioux match-up in GR. I think the Irish should be able to make it out of Toledo.

Anyone heard anything about Sean?

We had a blast in St. Paul. The F5 lived up to the hype. Amazing to see 19K turn out for the final when the Sioux and Gophs had been knocked out. Says a lot about their fan base that they came out to cheer on the 57 cursed club.

Yeah, there were a couple good chants going for CC. Lots of Wisconsin red in the crowd, but also lots of North Dakota green.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

For many years Mitz Kurth was the zamboni driver and head of the bull crew at the old D.U. Arena. His wife died only last week.

Just a bit of love right here for the Kurth family, who have put decades into the Pio Family...Both of their sons still contribute for off-ice officiating and Carl has put 40'ish years of selfless time supporting the program...The Kurths have been involved with Pio hckey for 50 maybe 60 years. I applaud them all, not many have put so much time into the program with so little recognition as they have.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Jason Zucker headed back to Houston. He had been skating on the Wild's 4th line since returning from the Corey Perry hit.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

I'm already planning to go the the NCHC tournament next year. I'm under no illusion that it will be as good, but if no one goes, then it can't possibly be. And hopefully, DU will BE THERE!

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

PS- The tickets through the school have a one time service fee for the transaction and its not much (only a couple $) where ticketmaster is charging 12.50 per ticket for the fee.
