Re: All Things Denver XXXIII

Classes start tomorrow at DU, but most of the hockey team has been here for 2 or 3 weeks. Captain's practice? Can they work with strength and conditioning coach prior to formal practices? Do I remember correctly that the first formal practice was the day of the exhibition game last year due to some convoluted NCAA reg?

Another interesting tidbit... UW has a Captain and 3 alternates, the same as DU.
According to Paul Capobianco of the UW athletic communications office, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association currently mandates that only three players are allowed to wear "C'' or "A'' letters on their sweaters for each game. As such, one(Alternate) will wear the "A'' at home and the other will wear it on the road (And I add: The third is an "A" all the time??)
I don't know whether this is a new rule, but if not what has DU done in the past and if so I wonder how Gwoz will alternate the Crimson "A" .

ROOT Sports TV Schedule
2012-13 University of Denver Hockey Telecast Schedule

All times listed are Mountain and subject to change

Date, Opponent, Time

Sat., Nov. 17, Colorado College, 7 p.m.

Sat., Dec. 29, Boston University, 7 p.m.

Fri., Jan. 4, Cornell, 7:30 p.m.

Sat., Jan. 12, Nebraska Omaha, 7 p.m.

Fri., Feb. 8, Colorado College, 7:30 p.m.

Sat., Feb. 23, North Dakota, 7 p.m.

The remaining 12 home games will be streamed live on Pioneer Vision.

That means all 21 DU home games will be broadcast on TV or streamed live on Pioneer Vision. I assume the 2 games at Minny will be on FSN North and the 2 at UND will be on FCS. That leaves 10 away games we don't know about (SCSU, UMD, Bemidji, Mankato and CC). I know in the past CBS Sports has gone to Colorado Springs for DU/CC games.
