Anyone remember a player named Dave Hanson? He played at Denver '84-'88 and is from Grand Forks. I've played in a couple men's league tournaments in Fargo recently and he was playing defense with me. Great guy, still moves pretty well on the ice and has a bit of a mean streak! Just wonderin...

He was a 4th round pick by the Flyers who seemed destined for the NHL. But what happens to really big early developing players in Juniors like Hansen and Paukovich is that the rest of the kids eventually catch up to them size by adulthood and the massive size/strength advantage becomes neutralized.
Scored 26 goals and had 52 assists as a forward who was built like a defenseman and played on DU's Frozen Four team in '86. He had to be the stongest guy on the team.
DU's made a ton of improvements in school spirit in the past five years. The good news is that the momentum has carried over from hockey to lacrosse and basketball.Just saw the video of the Student Season ticket campout..just wanted to say that is absolutely awesome!
You're memory is better than mine. Where is Swami when you need him.He was one of the "bookends," no?
Glad to hear it, that's a great thing for DU.DU's made a ton of improvements in school spirit in the past five years. The good news is that the momentum has carried over from hockey to lacrosse and basketball.

Oh God, this sounds like the off season!!!!
Maybe if I were going to Tampa for the Frozen Four I'd be more excited, but I'm just not as excited to see the FF this year as I have been in the past. Even though DU has not played in the FF since 2005, I was still excited.
- Tired of BC in the FF.
- Tired of hearing BC is prohibitive favorite.
- Tired of reading about Gopher leading the WCHA.
- Actually tired of the gophs.
- Tampa for the FF????
- Don't want BC or Minnie to win--either game.
I'm happy for Union and Ferris State--making the first trip to the FF. Even though the Minnie-BC game is being touted as the battle of the titans, Ferris-Union may be the real barn burner of the tourney.
- Really don't want to see a blowout in the Championship game.
I'll be cheering for the Ferris State Bulldogs--the only team of the four DU didn't beat this year.
I agree, I'm having a hard time getting psyched up for this one. I keep thinking about what if? All those golden opportunities by Zucker, ****! We've had so many frustrating post seasons, grrrrrrr! I guess it could be worse, we could be CC fans!!!
