We're tied with North Dakota for 11 in pairwise. I suppose we might be able to eek in if we lost to Tech on Thursday, but I would sure feel better if we win that game.

Way to go PIOS! What an amazing three game series!!!!!! I give the Badgers so much credit. They played three games of disciplined road hockey. I can't imagine how beat all the players must feel right now. Let's end on postive note and settle the score with the Huskies.

Under most scenarios were better off losing to Tech than beating Tech and losing to Duluth. Duluth is a TUC, Tech is not.

If a bunch of upsets happen and unranked teams win the WCHA, ECAC, CCHA & HE conference championships, DU wouldn't make the NCAA Tourney.

Of course if they win the Broadmoor there's a few scenarios that could make DU a #1 seed. (#3 out of 16)

This is just unnatural. How can we possibly want our team to lose? I guess I don't quite understand. My instinct is "just win baby", avenge the terrible weekend earlier in the year and stick to those previously funny posters-turned-********s from the other team.

Duluth lost to Bemidji last year in the Final 5 play-in game. Nice and rested from not having to play DU the following night, they got their act together and won the National Championship.

That assumes that we are going to qualify for the NCAAs, correct?

We've won like 21 national championships, and a recent 3-peat...so finishing in 6th place isn't gonna get much ink.

Amazing game last night--the 3 game series was college hockey at its most competitive. Fun to watch.

We need Paul Phillips back...He has been playing great hockey, and I hope he's OK. Mayfield has been a warrior out there, too. He will be a BEAST his sophomore year.

The Goal Czar...what a great story, and what a storybook ending to his career at Magness. 5'7" of power and speed, baby!

Nice to see us break the post-season spell that the Badgers had on us, too.

I did some simulations with the pairwise predictor and it didn't seem to matter either way if we lost to Tech or beat Tech and lost to Duluth. We seemed to stay at 12th no matter what as far as I could tell. Now, if we beat Tech its one less unranked team that could take our spot.

So, I hope we dominate and win the championship. I'm predicting another Sioux-Pioneers rematch.

I say we give "the Olkinholic" the start for thursday's game and if he does well keep him in for the rest of the final five. I thought he was fantastic on friday night!

Say we lose to Tech. As long as Tech or St. Cloud doesn't win WCHA, no real harm. It would then take Harvard, Bowling Green and Providence to ALL win their conference tournaments for us not to get a bid. (I'm close on that)
Maybe stated better this way. Someone wins AHA. 3 other teams who will end up with a TUC lower then us will pretty much have to win their conference tournament. So for us not to go, you need 3 out of 4 major upsets.
Yes, we root for ND to win their first game.

I think we're in. The biggest question mark was the W last night. Done! I think the boys may make a run for the trophy. Those three games against Sconie may make us the most prepared team in the country. Nobody had to fight like we did. That's the kind of stuff that gets you ready for one and done hockey. I like the idea of a UND rematch. I can't believe the Pios have exams after those three battles. Losing to Tech and resting doesn't sound like a bad option. Paul and Beau plus anyone else who is banged up would get some extra rest.

In Gwoz's post game with USCHO he said the whole team would be going to St. Paul, but he didn't expect Beau to play. Hope we see Paul Phillips and Chris Knowlton on Thursday.

Not to intercede, but while musing with the predictor, your fate depends on some of the east coast teams as I was able to get you down to 14, but I would agree under most scenario's you're in. Winning/ losing in St Paul didn't affect it all that much.
