Re: All Things Denver XXXII

I am living here in Linsanity nation. This kid has knocked the Super Bowl Champs and Eli off of the back pages of the sports sections here in NY. Speaking of hoops, the DU men's team faces Louisiana- Lafayette tonight at 5PM MT at Magness. Game is being televised live on Root Sports and FCS Pacific.

I can't wait for Carmelo to throw a giant spirit-breaking tantrum to spoil the Linsanity and drive the Knicks back down into the seller. As is in Gallo Nation know, selfishness is his biggest talent! :D

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

I just thought I'd let you all know, that Denver was College Hockey Weekly's Team of the Week for this past week. The Pioneers beat out Ferris State and Boston College for the honor.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

DU at #7 (T6) in the PWR this morning. The boys need to keep the pedal to the metal.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Hey DU fans where were you this weekend? From my observations of the final five and other road venues is you don't travel very well.

I think I saw 4 DU fans there out of 15,000. Badgers have had are terrible year. Last night was very sweet. Watching George walk off the ice all glassy eyed was priceless. Your team has great size and skill. They are a bit young.Other DU teams that have played here were more polished at important points in the games. Even Friday their effort was at best even with Bucky. Bucky just could not score. For DU to go deep this post season they need to get more aggressive in their offensive end. They did not match
what I have seen from UND and Minny earlier this season.

"All quiet on the Western Front" except for the sounds of 6 jumbo jets taking off from the Dane County airport back to Denver full of the Pio faithful.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

There's a replay of the DU game tonite FCSC at 10 Pacific--not sure whether it's Friday or Saturday.

Are you really asking about travelling well when it took until senior night so have your first home sellout?

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

What possible reason is there NOT to want to see a Ferris St., Merrimack, Lowell, Union Frozen Four? That would certainly be a once in a lifetime!

Let me rephrase, aside from the absence of DU, what other reason is there? I seriously think that a Frozen Four like that would be awesome.

I agree.

Under-appreciated college hockey schools do not diminish anything.

What are you guys, nuts? Living in the college hockey purgatory of Houston, I usually only get to see a couple regular season games a year (which unfortunately happened to be this weekend's lackluster effort in Madison). So when I go on my annual F4 junket I want to see the men play, not the children. The occasional outlier is fine (Bemidji acquitted itself well in DC and RIT fans were a hoot in Detroit) but if these are the four F4 teams in Tampa I'll give you my ducats.

And I'll gladly take them. Granted, seeing only a few games a year live I could see the point, but to my thinking it's nothing but good for the sport (any sport, any level) when teams that traditionally don't do well have a great season.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Since hindsight is 20-20 , I wasn't surprised Pios lost Saturday night. We did win on Friday, but it was not a stellar effort. Today's practice -- don't think I would want to be there.
