Re: All Things Denver XXX

Swami: You follow DU hoops closely. It appears from afar that the kids have tuned Scott out. I told Peg I didn't like the hire, but she assured me they had done their homework on his behavior. She may have erred on this one. Not enough atleticism and the style is monotonous. (Princeton basketball is a pleasure to watch. You need a tall center who can shoot from outside) No players after next year. A new coach now will let him settle in with experienced players and give him 2 years to recruit. Our defensive field goal percentage is almost the worst in the country. Your thoughts please.

People on the inside at PU couldn't stand him.

Bruce Ciskie running a fan poll for WCHA honors. Zucker is in the lead for Rookie.:D

Have you noticed in the last 2 USCHO bracketology stories DU is in St. Louis and paired with Gwoz's proteges Blasi and Appert? (But they keep moving RPI back east for attendance purposes.)
St. Louis is a great party town. Its the only Regional that I would attend if DU gets sent there.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Toning down the obscene rhetoric is always to your advantage son.:)

To the DU fans: What's your take on this weekend's series with SCSU? Any predictions?

Predictions have been difficult lately for I don't which DU team is going to take the ice on a given night. If DU plays as they did Saturday night in Omaha, then I'd say DU sweeps. If the DU team that lost to Tech or played Friday night in Omaha takes the ice both nights this weekend, then DU would most likely drop both games. So, I'll play it safe and say split. But, I'm sure hoping that I see the team that beat UNO. I kinda like that team. :)

I believe our slide is done. It is out of their system. Kyle Ostrow is back and I'm sure you notice, our slide corresponded with his absence. Oh yeah, we're back baby and just in time for the post season!!!!

I used to live there and it was great. Hopefully the NCAA does a better job than MOY, but you most likely will get a ccha team there with you. I do agree that St Louis is as good a place as any For DU to play. Good luck BTW.

Yeah, I'm excited that Kyle Ostrow is back in the mix as we really did find out how important he is to the success of the Pioneers. Also, maybe we can have Jesse briefly address the crowd each night, as the Pios have had much success when he does.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

I have no idea what Kyle's medical situation is. But I would hope that Gwoz would use him on a limited basis on Friday night, to make sure that all is OK before he jumps right back into the thick of things.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

1 Hopefully Ostrow is a difference maker.

2. Prediction: DU takes 3 points -- not quite out of the woods yet. Goalies need to heat up.

3. Not ready for a verdict on Joe Scott yet. His team has been hurt by injuries, but has still beaten almost every team in the SBC this year, and they have a good shot at beating teams on a neutral court. He had some guys who can play, but DU needs more athletic guys....

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Wow. While I enjoy a ****ing contest as much as anyone; after reading the last couple of pages I'd have to say there is but one true test to determine who are the "real fans" here. Some decades long futility ought to be enough to do it.

Here's to hoping you guys get what you really need! Cheers.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

EVERY Denver fan had EVERY right to be angry after that game last night. There were NO EXCUSES!
You couldn't be more wrong than if you were puppy-dogging some *******slut from Fairbanks around a bar in Anchorage. Wrongness on a grand scale.

You have no right to be ANGRY. None. These are not professional athletes. Sure, you might convince yourself that DU's ridiculously high tuition rates are compensation for their performances on the ice. But if you do, then do you go to a Physics test and berate the scholarship students there for not focusing enough to get an A?

Adjust your crap attitude at college hockey. It is not professional sports. If you attend for anything other than the love of seeing high level competition then that's your problem.

The price of a ticket to a WCHA game is well worth it regardless of the result that you want to see.

Waahhhh ... my team played crappy!!11!!!

Get over it little girl.

Spoken like the fan of a program where "tied at the end of one" makes the highlight reel.

You're an excellent representative of typical american sports fan. You don't really care or respect your program or it's players. You are satiated only by victory. It's is only the selfish pleasure you vicariously derive from winning that keeps you involved. Had "your" team had the same fate as the program I follow you'd have long ago cashed in your internet voice for a bottle of whiskey.

Young men in collegiate athletics provide you with entertainment by giving their all and risking injury and you repay them with lame criticism regarding their performance? Is it just age that diminished your personal character or something else?

Now ... make another crack about the lack of success the team I follow has historically. Because I'll happily put my track record of support for them up for comparison against ANY fan of college hockey ANYWHERE.

It's something pretty profound to have me spend one more second with you. You going for the Clara Barton award? Okay, you win.

I will say that someone who purports to know all about every fan, everywhere, for all time, should have noticed that DU had the better part of two decades where, for the most part, they were as awful as the Seaweenies have been since day one.

What a great marketing plan: "We suck but we have better fans" More correctly: "We suck, but we have one delusional self proclaimed omnicient fan who specializes in platitudinous twaddle and he thinks that makes him better."

How does that song go: "Throw a nickel on the drum, save another drunken bum?" You're probably too young to remember this, but Red Skelton used to have a character called the "mean widdle kid." And the kid used to say: "he don't know me very well, do he?"*

*a line which Bugs also used.
