LetsGoDU's London office worked long into the night to produce a "birdless" D-Rah Video.

as long as we're on the subject of videos, here is the intro videos for the 2010 DU Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. Lot's of cool old DU images from the days of yore, including the 1969 Hockey team at the end....

Injury Update from DU Game Notes for the Wisconsin series.

OUT OF ACTION
Senior forward Dustin Jackson (mononeucleosis) is out this weekend, while Nick Shore (wrist) and William Wrenn (hamstring) are questionable. Jackson and Wrenn have not played this season, while Shore’s only appearance was the season opener at Vermont.

Nick's dad told me that he was going to be out for three weeks on Friday.

Is this the brother with the huge slap shot or is that Baker? I remember reading an article about this family and saw something about a laser slap shot from a young Shore brother. And while we're at it, Maine had the Kariya brothers, three of them, DU had the Berry bros, three of them, have we had a trio of brothers besides the Berrys?

Re: All Things Denver, XXVIII

Chris Butler finally got into the lineup for Buffalo. Got 2 assists in Sabres 4-1 win over thrashers and was named 2nd star. 3 GP G-0 A-2 +3.
Manino still with the Thrashers as backup.

Berrys are the only ones so far.

Guess Victoria was scouting the DU alumni game and Lemon/Orange competition over the weekend and figured that Gauthier was too good to pass up. Gabe still looks great out there on the ice. Bulkier and stronger than his DU days, but his height was always the issue.

Considering how good he was a DU, it should be a sober reminder to all these current Pioneers what a longshot the NHL is.

I've talked to some scouts and GMs and what really held Gabe back from being an NHLer was his lack of NHL footspeed. He was a lot like Dallas Gaume - a great producer at the college and minor league levels, but not quite fast enough for the NHL. If you can't be big, you better be fast...

Re: All Things Denver, XXVIII

NCAA.com story on DU's third goalie, Josh Rosenholz, who is turning far more heads as a DJ than he likely ever will in a Pioneer jersey:
http://www.ncaa.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/102110aaa.html

Can't say that I've ever heard him playing out, but it looks like I may have to have a talk with Mr Rosenholz and convince him that it would be in his best interest to book some studio time with me. I do, after all, have about the most advanced "DJ-centric" commercial studio in Denver. My favorite player may end up being the 3rd string goalie...

DG;s blog has an interesting exploration of DU's athletic logos and mascots over time:

Very cool to see all the logos and mascots together.

DU is crazy not to design some old school hockey jerseys and/or shirts with the old school logos and mascots

According to Denver Post Murray is hurt so Brittain starts two this weekend.
