Re: ALL THINGS DENVER--XL--This one's for Old Pio

Any rumors of defections yet?

Pretty sure it hinges on Monty. If he goes elsewhere, Gambrell, Terry, and Borgstrom are gone....maybe Hillman and/or Jaillet, but doubtful. My guess: Monty comes back, we retain everybody, and win #9 next year. :)

Les Rapaces de Gap(France) signs Evan Ritt

Lakewood, Colorado, Evan has been in 2012-2013 a prolific junior year with the Ironmen (NAHL) Jameston, ranking 2nd pointer of his team (41 points in 60 games).

In 2013 that he began his academic career in Denver. Tenure*(How about started) a few times during the first three years of his studies, Evan has managed to win this season as a starter in the squad, with an interesting accounting season for an attacker with defensive (12 points in 41 games). Collectively it won this year with his team the title of Champion University all combined conferences!

Luciano Basile: "Evan is a right-handed Center defensive, very hardworking and specialist of the face-offs. He's a player of trust on which his coach (Jim Montgomery) rested a lot last season, especially in situations of inferiority. he adapted to a more defensive role at the University level and will give us depth on our 3rd and 4th trio."

Have to think Borgstrom's success will lead to more interest from Finnish recruits

Re: ALL THINGS DENVER--XL--This one's for Old Pio

Peter "Manno" Manino will be back at DU....twice a year with the Mavericks.

Re: ALL THINGS DENVER--XL--This one's for Old Pio

As much as he would make a very good Coach in the NHL...his niche is in College Hockey, he's done all the work needed to get to the top...and as his former Head Coach (Shawn Walsh) at Maine said...he's a Coach on the ice and saw that Montgomery had the tools then as he has proven in the USHL and in Div.1 Hockey. Denver's gain.

Re: ALL THINGS DENVER--XL--This one's for Old Pio

Anyone know anything about Joachim Weberg? He's a former Denver recruit who just recently committed to Brown. Can't find much info on him other than his stat lines from prep and juniors.

I remember he committed when Gwoz was the coach and was expected a couple of years ago.

Re: ALL THINGS DENVER--XL--This one's for Old Pio

Texan Ryan O'Reilly (forward, 6' 183 lbs) committed to DU for 2019. Born 3/21/00, played Elite U16 for Dallas Stars and 7 games for Madison Capitals last year. Had decommitted from Omaha.

ICYMI DU's 9 seniors graduated with a cumulative 3.63 GPA!

And in case you wondered, there are 112 days (16 weeks) until DU's exhibition game.

Re: ALL THINGS DENVER--XL--This one's for Old Pio

DU fans should be happy. Denver Post reports Terry, Borgstrom, Jaillet, and Hammond all returning. Gambrell still a question mark.
