Alaska Nanooks 2015-16 Season Thread - Straight Outta Sanction…

Re: Alaska Nanooks 2015-16 Season Thread - Straight Outta Sanction…

Re: Alaska Nanooks 2015-16 Season Thread - Straight Outta Sanction…

It’s a sad day when our most lofty expectations are to stay within four points of uaa so we at least have a chance of beating them twice in the last two games of the year and squirming our way into the last playoff spot. But that seems to be where we are at. Assuming UAH doesn’t sneak in there somehow.

If I understand it correctly, since we will have played uaa four games, head-to-head is the first tie breaker for conference standing instead of total conference wins. I have visions of us pulling our goalie with two minutes left in OT on Saturday night…and according to form, give up an empty netter to lose at home.

If uaa splits with LSSU and loses both games against MSU, and we lose all four games against BGSU and MTU, then above scenario is in play. If we can steal a game from BGSU or MTU, then a Friday night win against uaa would give us the cup and a playoff spot. That would give us something to cheer about until the following weekend when we get swept in our playoff series.

We have been a pretty decent team for a number of years now, but this season reminds me of the old days and it is not a good feeling.

Anything is possible. UAA isn't have a much better season, yet they swept Tech on the road. Ya never know.

Just watch...the vultures are going to start circling in the WCHA now that we both have had a bad year at the same time. Something about being so far away...

Tuttle said that Tyler Morley scored the game winner, but I didn't see him on the roster. Is he still out? Congrats on the win. It's a battle between UAA and UAF for that last playoff spot!

Goal was scored by Taylor Munson. Tyler Morley is still out along with three others, Nanooks had a defenseman playing forward tonight. Hope we can get the guys back healthy soon!

I know the feeling. UAA is pretty beaten up too.

Re: Alaska Nanooks 2015-16 Season Thread - Straight Outta Sanction…

Scoring a shorty with 9 seconds left for the 2-1 win is somewhat of a payback for last year, when BGSU scored twice with less than a minute left to force the tie.

I was surprised we kept the game in reach considering T. Morley, Mullally, and Vieth were all out of the line up with injuries. Skating a D men in the forward position and having guys play PK who haven’t done so in over three years is usually not a good sign. Seems everybody stepped it up when needed.

Only saw the highlights, but looks like Jenks had a very good game. Great job boys.

Go Nooks!

Leave it to the Alaska House to put somebody who owns a junkyard (seriously) in charge of an appropriation worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

She couldn't even win the FNSB Mayoral election this year...not only did she not win, she got completely smoked. Tells you what most people think of her. But it's also a shame she lost because it would have gotten her out of the legislature.

I think the removal of athletic funding was actually Seaton's idea originally, FWIW.

From what I hear she's not likely to get her way, but I guess we will
know for sure in 48 hours.

Some Anchorage legislator gave her a walk thru of the Alaska Airlines Center during game night and she quickly realized what a boondoggle that was. She is taking it out on everyone.

P.S. She did enjoy the featured spinach quiche and white wine spritzers though.

I read that website about her from that FNSB election. JFC what a tool.

Walker's a hockey (I should know, I played with his kid) and there's a few decent minds (emphasis "few") in the Legislature that this should go nowhere.

Having actually attended events at the AAC, they're doing pretty good.

And the pizza is quite good.

Her basic thought process is questionable enough, but everybody is entitled to their own opinion. What is more problematic and evidence of her cluelessness is her graphs, spreadsheets, and rational for her “positions.” She is dangerous. Not sure how her staff can let her put that stuff out there. They might be as clueless as she is.

Sorry to get political but it's Republican MO: Cut your way out of troubles and always start with education, especially those danged liberal colleges.

I finally got around to attending an event in the AAC last weekend, to watch my second-favorite GNAC basketball team take care of business (two days after my favorite GNAC team took care of business against said second favorite).

I will admit it's a beautiful facility. But I still don't know why they didn't put an ice plant in it.

Did he invite her back for first round playoff's in the legislators sky box and drink real booze?
