Alaska Nanooks, 2010-11 Season Thread – Global disruption...

Re: Alaska Nanooks, 2010-11 Season Thread – Global disruption...

Re: Alaska Nanooks, 2010-11 Season Thread – Global disruption...

As opposed to those hard bench seats in the balcony of the Carlson? :p

No need to rub it in. We don't have the same luxuries as Sullivan patrons. We only wish we had padded "like new" seats in the balcony. It's surprising that ours fill up almost every game. It's a cross we'll have to bear. :)

Anyone know if there's a radio feed for the game tonight?

I believe it may be carried HERE on KSUA, 7:05pm AST. Hard to tell what the sound quality may be. But it may be just the thing for an eastcoast nightowl.
Oops - didn't notice UAFIce Angel already responded.

Go Nooks!

I saw Bruce with a headset on even at the Blue/Gold game, so I'd think there would be audio tonight too.

Edit: yeah, me too :p guess it helps to go to the second page before replying lol

I guess its so seldom that one of our threads gets to "page two" that it caught us by surprise. :)

mmf, just wondering but do you have a press badge to take your pictures? cause last year I got a new camera for christmas, so I brought it to the game and I had a security guard watching over my shoulder the entire game.

No, I don't. But I haven't noticed any staff keeping an eye on me. Maybe it only takes them a second or so to ascertain that I don't know what I'm doing and that I'm no pro. :)

Carlson security shouldn't hassle you for taking pictures. The press passes are just for entry, and access around the arena.

The university would be the ones to decide if thats okay, and as far I know they don't care. The only thing would be if someone wasn't maintaining distance to the glass, security will ask you to move back, camera or not, so views aren't obstructed.

I went to the Patty Box Office around Noon to get tickets for tonites game, and they said about 70 had been sold, and get there early, since it is on campus, the student fan base should be in full force! And to find a parking place. Doors open at 6pm to the Patty Ice Arena.

Monday on "Hockey Talk" on 970 KFBX Live 8-830 am, repeats 1230-1 pm will be "Meet the Nanooks Pt 3" with line mates Dustin Sather and Andy Tauranto.

Thanks for posting about that, by the way. I never knew about that show before, went back and listened to some older ones after you mentioned them a while back. Now I know who makes the A-tower of pucks before warm-ups :)

Less than two hours till puck drop!

Do they? Because many of the games I watched on TV showed a Carlson that was far from full.

Nanooks win their ex game 9-0. I'm guessing the Blue-Gold scrimmage was more of a test.

Blue/Gold is always a test of how the team is doing.

The Windsor game sounded fun, got pretty fiesty at the end. Should be fun to see how the Seawolves game with them turns up.

Funny you always say that, and it's not even close to being true. Come up to Fairbanks, and stop by the CC.....you'll see. Usually a pretty full house.

She does always say that...cant say I was impressed with the Gov Cup attendance in Fairbanks last year, but it's definitely not a consistent thing, in the past it's been pretty packed. But let her say what she wants, the Sullivan never fills up either for the Gov Cup games (atleast with UAA fans), and with the population difference between Fairbanks and Anchorage, that kinda shocks me.

@UAFIceAngel, I recall the Carlson being about 80 short of a sellout for UAA last year. Either way it was loud and rowdy, especially after Water(bottle)gate. Sully, I believe, was about 2/3 full the night before.

Bruce said on the radio broadcast that the Patty was packed last night, but the box score said otherwise.

UAA/Windsor could be interesting for the fights that will probably happen.

hmm maybe it was some other game lol, oh man the water bottle incident, that was fantastic!! hope we can get him that riled up again. Even then tho the Sully being 2/3 full, how many of them were Nanook fans? lol

Wow I just saw the box score. I'm wondering if maybe they stopped taking tickets either upstairs or downstairs and people just started coming in without a ticket? Cause my family said it was pretty packed too. Or maybe they had so many students come in and they weren't accounted for on the box score? I dont know but its still even hard to imagine 600 people in the Patty Center that place is so small and with all that horrible parking.
