I guess you must not consider the fact that Merrimack is just flat out a better team than Maine as a reason Maine couldn't beat them.
Better goaltending? check
Better defense? check
Deeper? check (MC's 3rd line center with an HT, and Sheen, Flanigan and Madsen were all over the Black Bears all weekend).
Better coach (too easy).
I though that after the close game yesterday, MC would win game 2 big. Early playoff nerves out of the way, they dominated.

I don't want to sound like a sore loser here but since you called me out: I would not use the term "flat out better" to describe a 5-game set in which neither team lost at home, the margin was 3-2 and the goal differential totaled 19-18.

Your third line had an awesome weekend. Congrats. Cannata for Hobey.

Congratulations to Merrimack hockey and it's fans!!!! You have ridden your mascot HOKYDAD into the Garden!!!!
Granted, not as hard has he's hoping to ride each and every one of you. ;)

Many of us fans of other HE teams salute your efforts over the past several months and wish you all the best in Boston and beyond! You all looked great on TV and had Lawler banged out and rocking.

All the best going forward.

JC might have had a rough few games but far superior to a rough season by ME goalies. Bounces back as good as anyone. MC must simply get puck on net and good things will happen.

MC in 2 easy games.

ME had 162 p minutes in last 4. Choked vs U Mass, d was exposed again. Goalie fell down

I thought their kids could pick any hs, which is why many go to Hampden Academy, John Bapst etc.

Agreed. SD is still not 100% but getting better every game. Will be ready come NCAA's and probably closer at HE final 4. Big weekend for MC to show that they are not a one horse team and for others to step up.

They could peak exactly right

Good job Merrimack. Best luck in the HE playoffs. I think ur rough tough style will work well against 95% of the teams out there. Just dont try that stuff on UND. They'll eat you alive. :) Hopefully you wont end up in their regional.

We played against them in a 2 game series at the beginning of last year..we got swept but both games were close, they're not that intimidating.

Havent seen them play this year, huh? At Alfond earlier this year they were head hunting like I've never seen in 30 years. Keep ur head up. :)

Congrats to Merrimack! I'll be pulling for you the rest of the way. Also thank you because I am in hopes that you put the final nail in Timmays coffin. If the administration cant see that this program is going nowhere under him now then Maine hockey is done! Again....best of luck at the Garden and in the ncaa's!

ME lost, move on. Diamond was every bit as dirty as any player in league, more so than anyone on MC. Bigos tries to skate around and play like he did in juniors, which is to bad. It accomplishes nothing and will hurt them as they move forward. Surprised MD hasn't stopped it. Can not afford to be in the box vs BC, not for one extra shift.

In the end, ME's top players getting dragged into it helped MC. Nyquist watching more than one PP from box is awin/win for MC. And it was...
