#6 today, going to give that nod to my buddy Kyle McCutcheon. He hustled all over the ice, used to be a forward but became a fleet-footed defenseman, and always made the smart play. A real nice guy on and off the ice.

# 8 Matt Schmidt, strong skilled forward, wicked backhand.

# 7 Curt Healey, power forward, rangy, excellent shot, faster than you thought. Lou Dimasi, offensive d-man, but willing to step up too. Slapper from the point. Scott Schroeder, if he had stayed, might be leading this number

# 6 Michael Ludwar, another western Canadian captain, excellent defensive skills, speedy, played far larger than his size. Shawn Baker, D first. Big hitter

Rod Langway ??? #5 is OWNED by Cardinal defenseman Doug Kimura ('77-81) who arguably is the best DII/III dman of all time. Put Cardinal hockey on the map. Two-time All-American when there was only 1st and 2nd team for the whole country. Gifted on and off the ice !!! Respected by all, hated by many. Over 250 PIM to go along with 130+ points. All that and played at about 140 lbs., soaking wet !

Granted this one comes from when I first started watching EC hockey and I was five or six years old at the time but I seem to remember Elmira having a goalie named Jamie Cuff that wore #4.

Can anyone confirm that one? If it's true, still to this day the only goalie I've ever seen wear the #4.

Toza Crnilovic, just inducted into the NU Sports HOF. Team captain, defensive d-man, physical presence. 2003 Championship GWG.


Also Owen Carpino and Phil Sbrocchi, both hard-nosed defensemen, with Owen having a scorers touch and Phil a little more physical.

Plattsburgh #4.....Peter Ollari. Really good defenseman, All-American, National Champ, blah, blah....Stahl a great leader, surprising offensively and stellar defensively.

#3 Jean Dahme, played as a member of the Cardinals during their first year as an NCAA team during his senior year, scoring 30 goals and 31 assists in just 23 games with just 24 PIM :eek:

Not to just be different, but I'll go with #3 Rick Young who did two stints with the cardinals in the early '80's. His freshman year he scored 18 goals and had 45 assists !!! With all due respect to Jean, the schedule was a lot different back in his 30 goal season. Young is borderline Cardinal Hall of Famer. Distant 3rd/4th place are Tim Pelletier ('95-99) and current Card senior Barry Roytman.
