#9 Utica's Ron Mexico, D-man from Brighton, Mich. Founding member of UC's Hockey Program. Two time co-captain with Jimmy Sokol. Scored the game winning goal in double overtime over Elmira in the Semifinals of the ECAC-West tournament in 2005, with assist by Sokol. (Derek, you remember that game, don't you?) But mainly because he is RON MEXICO!

We are about to leave #8 (for you Gary Howatt fans) and now we are about to explore #7 who belongs to (Rod, Phil, and Yvon Labre??) So what say you? Who is your favourite #7 (note the Canadian spelling and the # symbol for you Neumann backers)?

Anyway, #7 - Tracey Belanger - three-time All-SUNYAC; two-time SUNYAC Player of the Year; All-American.

Tracey Belanger.....good. Dave Piromalli..........better. Piromalli is currently the 3rd ranked scorer in the history of DII/III hockey, an All-American, a Plattsburgh State Hall of Famer and National Championship winner. Tough to beat that. But, Belanger was very good.

Dave had 206 PIM's in 136 games, Tracey had 80 in 127 games :eek:, though Dave is the 3rd ranked scorer and Tracey is 5th, Tracey is one of the 19 Cardinals that made First Team All-American (Dave was second team). OK, I admit I am biased, I was a student during Tracey's years, I was busy as he11 during Dave's years. BTW, I'll also predict that Tracey will be a Plattsburgh State Hall of Famer.

I'll also through in a personal favorite from a couple of years ago....Vick Schlueter....that guy hustled like nobody's business. Give me a team full of Vicks and I'll go 14-11 !!

Belanger and Piromalli were way before my time. I've heard some stories about how dangerous Piromalli was though. However, I was going to pick Vick too, because he gave the Lakers fits throughout his 4 years at Plattsburgh!

Luke Moodie, cool name, good player and he was missing his front teeth, not a whole lot to dislike about him.

Ok, trying not to be Swift, so I Kemp thinking and decided I'll Dolci on over and select Nick Rolls as my favorite. Now to think about Kimuras pick.

Don't forget the program's very first star.....#6 Matt Wescott of Lake Placid, NY !!! Four year captain and leading scorer every year but one. Saw the program through the early years to playing/beating DI teams. A real playmaker. Him and Danny Brown could play with anyone. But I like Rolls too. John Swift, Joe Dolci, Chad Kemp....good number for the Cards !

I was still in high school then, but what a team.

There was three hat tricks scored on the game by starting center Matt Wescott and the starting defensemen Rick Young and Doug Kimura.
