2nd Term Part XI; Year 8, Part 1... Electioneering and Lame Ducking

Re: 2nd Term Part XI; Year 8, Part 1... Electioneering and Lame Ducking

I often wonder why he writes for Gawker Media instead of the NYT or Jane's, but it's pretty clear that GMN gives him free reign to cover what he wants instead of getting assignments. They probably don't pay him but a fraction of what he should command.

And by doing so, he threatens losing Medicaid funding from the feds, because you can't refuse to pay otherwise qualified facilities simply because you don't like them.

So to save $60,000 he's probably putting millions at risk. Good call, dipshiat.

That's ok. They have a big *** deficit at the State level already because he doesn't think taxes pay for government so he cut them all.

He'll get sued and lose. Not any more complicated than that.

Still don't believe the US is a Plutocracy? All you need to know is right here.

Re: 2nd Term Part XI; Year 8, Part 1... Electioneering and Lame Ducking

I find it astronomical a company can absorb a $5b penalty and survive. Not saying there should be limits on a company's worth, just saying.

Re: 2nd Term Part XI; Year 8, Part 1... Electioneering and Lame Ducking

Heh. This dope's still out there.

Former Minnesota Republican congresswoman Michele Bachmann said on Saturday that the Syrian Civil War is paving the way for an apocalyptic war between Israel and foreign powers.

Bachmann, who has previously claimed that President Obama and the gay rights movement are ushering in the Last Days, told radio hosts Jan Markell and Eric Barger that “the world is about to give legitimacy to the Islamic State” while, at the same time, Russian and Iranian military intervention in Syria on behalf of its dictator Bashar Assad has paved the way for a future invasion of Israel by the two countries in order to seize its energy resources, just as laid out in the Bible

Can we please stop referring to her as former Minnesota anything?

Also, two of John Tyler's grandsons are still alive (or at least were a couple of years ago). And I believe a couple of Civil War widows are still around (or, again, at least were a couple of years ago).

Wouldn't a Civil War widow have to be at least 167 years old or so, assuming a young marriage age of 14 or 15?

It apparently happened a bunch during the Depression. The very old vets were getting a pension, so you marry your daughter to one figuring it at least guarantees them some income.

Protestors, I don't know for which cause, illegally blocked the northbound 35W exit ramps into downtown Minneapolis this morning. It caused my commute to come to a complete stop for more than 30 minutes, thus causing me to be late to the office.

Employed Lives Matter!
Commuter Lives Matter!

(Actually, it's not yet been announced who the protestors were, so this is based upon past actions around here.)

It was a group that wants the minimum wage raised.

Edit: I guess the group was specifically supporting janitors.

Today in wacky Madison it's Latinos protesting State gvt. action restricting 'undocumented immigrants' settling in WI. They are walking out of restaurants and multiple restaurants have closed for the day in support. No Fast Food in Madison today!!
