2nd Term Part XI; Year 8, Part 1... Electioneering and Lame Ducking

Re: 2nd Term Part XI; Year 8, Part 1... Electioneering and Lame Ducking

It was a group that wants the minimum wage raised.

Edit: I guess the group was specifically supporting janitors.

Then that's probably the SEIU janitorial protest that was supposed to take place outside my office building this afternoon - and licensed only to use the sidewalks to surround the building. Looks like they shot their wad a bit earlier than scheduled and created quite a few unimpressed people who may have otherwise been sympathetic to their cause. I'm cutting a whizz on the restroom floor today.

Janitorial Lives Matter (but only to the sum of $7.25/hour).

Leave a note: "Sorry, was late for my morning meeting; didn't have time to aim."

Today in wacky Madison it's Latinos protesting State gvt. action restricting 'undocumented immigrants' settling in WI. They are walking out of restaurants and multiple restaurants have closed for the day in support. No Fast Food in Madison today!!

Not even @ Chick Fil A? Or were they banned by the progressives?

When Trump is Prez they can just hop on the bus that goes by the protest. The Bus heads straight to Mexico.

Protestors, I don't know for which cause, illegally blocked the northbound 35W exit ramps into downtown Minneapolis this morning. It caused my commute to come to a complete stop for more than 30 minutes, thus causing me to be late to the office.

Employed Lives Matter!
Commuter Lives Matter!

(Actually, it's not yet been announced who the protestors were, so this is based upon past actions around here.)

I'm getting real sick and tired of this bullsh1t

Yeah, add in Biden coming to town and I was late for a meeting I had for my department at school. Thankfully everyone knew what was going on so I was ok :)

This story could just as easily have fit into What the Fark 3 or Conspiracy du Jour. Seriously, is there a more bizarre story out there right now? It's like a Jerry's Kids telethon for high weirdness.

Glenn Beck used his radio program today to once again call upon his listeners who are members of the NRA to vote to remove anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist from the organization's board due to his supposed ties to Islamic radicals.

Nearly a year ago, Beck threatened to quit the NRA if Norquist remained on the board, which prompted the organization to launch an investigation into the allegations that he has links to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Norquist is also apparently really big into vaping.

Edit: Seriously, the person who changed the font color settings on this site needs to be fired.

I'm so pussywhipped by Gawker that I barely remember that when they first changed formats I was appalled.

I do remember the site used to be far easier to read. Smart phones: forward into a cartoon-driven world.

Smartphones have killed webpage design. Actually, that's a lie. A buddy of mine does some incredible website design. He showed me a couple from his portfolio and they actually have functional designs for both desktop and mobile.

Only because this was on Gawker's front page, I decided to click in.

I couldn't get past the first paragraph. This is so horribly written, even for Gawker, that I had to close it. That first paragraph has the world's abuse of the semicolon I have ever seen.

Edit. Holy ****. Every paragraph is a single sentence. I didn't even check for the Oxford comma. My brain can only take so much abuse for the night.

Why didn't you guys just run 'em over, like the last protest in that area? ;)

Bootstrap is a thing of beauty. :)

538 tries to quantify the effect of the Bully Pulpit, with underwhelming results.
