Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

More fuel for the Tea Party fire...Obama can't make up his mind how old he is. Just yesterday he said he was 52 and now he's claiming to be 53. Definitely a conspiracy worthy of a lengthy Darrell Issa investigation.

Issa's definitely going to have more time on his hands now that the House Intelligence Committee found no wrongdoing on the part of the Administration over Benghazi!

In other developments, Issa has now subpeoned the members of the House Intelligence Committee. :D

Also upon reading this, one can picture Opie being dragged out of the recreation room by two orderlies kicking and screaming out BEN GAAAAZZZIIIIIII all the way back to his padded room. :D :D :D

No way they will admit Benghazi was just a thingy, though.

It's what they've got. No ideas, so throw brick bats. Expect them to get even more histrionic as we get nearer the election. They had one idea in 1978, and it's played out.

Hey, I just want to hear how the House Intelligence Committee is now PART of the conspiracy! Fishy, Opie, joey, c'mon I know you can come up with something? :D

This "War on Whites" is a joke, right? I thought American History was a required subject in high schools... whoever thought it up clearly doesn't understand...

Come on, look at the battles in the War.

1863 Emancipation Proclamation
1865 Defeat of the Confederacy
1948 Desegregation of the Military
1954 Brown v Board of Ed
1964 Voting Rights Act
1967 Loving v Virginia
1980 Jake and Elwood run Illinois Nazis off bridge
2008 Election of a Black President

Don't you understand that the loss of white privilege is a "war"?

They want to unite the Christian right and Libertarians, tell me how this makes sense?

Common enemy. It looks OK on paper when it comes to bromides like "I hates me some big gubmint", but imagine the game of Twister they'd have to play on virtually every substantive issue. You can only spend so much time cutting food stamps and affirmative action.

Related. It's amazing how all 3 Republican hopefuls in the Alaska Senate race are doing the impossible. Making Mark Begich look good.

The fact that he's in office at all is an amazing indictment of the AK GOP. He's a terrible candidate and an empty suit legislator. He's Ben Cardin but he's running in a place that ought to be about an R +20. I can't imagine how he could survive.

Oh he'll survive. He's getting some serious karmic payback for his Dad dying I guess. 6 years ago he beats Ted Stevens because of the corruption scandal. Now, the GOP is making it easy for him. Out of his three opponents, one is favored by the "Establishment" but a straight up carpetbagger (a bad thing to be in Alaska), another is a serious conservative but has little support, and the third is a well known whacked out Tea Party guy. Basically, the three worst candidates to face Begich.

Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

This is reason #1 why Senate predictions are ludicrous at this point. Not every GOP challenger in a red state is going to be Republican Jesus. In fact you may or have already gotten flawed candidates in several races (NC comes to mind).

Furthermore, we need to see how people actually do on the campaign trail once nominated. I have no idea how good of a candidate Michelle Nunn will be in GA despite her father's success. Cotton in Arkansas isn't proving to be what people thought he was going to be as well.

Since Begich has been constantly up in polls, his competition are relative light-weights, its a late primary and I believe a libertarian is in the race he's not in bad shape. In fact of the 7 more difficult Dem Senate seats to retain this year (WV, NC, LA, AK, SD, MT, AK) I'd say he's the least likely to lose at this point.
