This isn't from the approved list. Please look for a story from hot air, Sludge, Rush Limbaugh's drug-addled brain, faux "news" or the Wall Street Journal editorial page.

So, you admit I'm right.

As per usual, you throw out a baseless claim or criticism and then refuse to back it up.

Who's the troll?

Apparently it's me. Just ask SCSU fans. :D;)

Never mind. He's gone back up on his cross.

Stories like this make me mad. All we hear all day long is how over regulated everything is and now the government just needs to get out of the way.

Then we hear that morons are allowed to destroy the water supply so severely that 300,000 people have to go without water. And why? Lax regulations.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/13/u...ts-lax-west-virginia-regulations.html?hp&_r=0

Last week’s major chemical spill into West Virginia’s Elk River, which cut off water to more than 300,000 people, came in a state with a long and troubled history of regulating the coal and chemical companies that form the heart of its economy.

She said lawmakers have yet to explain why the storage facility was allowed to sit on the river and so close to a water treatment plant that is the largest in the state.

Ms. Rosser and others noted that the site of the spill has not been subject to a state or federal inspection since 1991. West Virginia law does not require inspections for chemical storage facilities — only for production facilities.

Yep, no question here. Over regulation.

Are you this childish in real life?

Re: 2nd Term Part VII: You May Like Your Doctor But You Can't Keep Her

Gurt, you know as well as I do that the source is all that matters not the content. The bottom line for me is this, after listening to Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Maddow, O'Donnel, Sharpton, Matthews, and Chris Hayes my conclusion on the IRS and Benghazi scandals is that all of it is a bunch of manufactured hot air that is entirely media and Issa driven. Issa is out investigating crap and getting nowhere all the time. He might be the biggest waste of money in government right now.

Ironically the Chris Christie scandal which I highlighted at the beginning of this thread has more legs than I ever dreamed. I thought for sure it would end up in the IRS or Benghazi bucket but it appears to have real legs, teeth, and hair.

All of this and my conclusion are driving Hannity and Rush insane right now and it puts a smile on my face to see the meltdown.

Just close your eyes for a moment and contemplate the reaction of the MSM and our lefty posters if the president who used the IRS as a club against his opponents was named Nixon.

All you need do is point out where Obama was using the IRS against his opponents Opie and you're golden! I await your evidence....

No, I'm seriously saying some of our citizens, who pass themselves off as Christians, are equally as intolerant and would fit in perfectly in the middle east.

"Pass themselves off as Christians?" Who gets to decide who's a "legitimate" Christian and who's not? You? Your customary moral equivalence argument, as usual, doesn't wash. There are no Christian beheading videos on Best Gore (and other sites) but there are surely plenty of Islamist beheadings. Accompanied, as usual, by "Allah u Akhbar." The bottom line here is that you and the rest of the ladies in the chorale give lip service to religious freedom, so long as religious folk don't actually stand up for what they believe in. If they do, you quickly compare them to Middle East head choppers. Nice. And so tolerant.

I go by what Jesus Christ said and did while He was on earth. I don't recall too many statements about gay people, but I remember Him talking about about tolerance. I remember reading a lot about compassion and treating the poor well and that the rich were not all that welcome in heaven (something about the eye of a needle). I recall reading this Pope (God's voice on earth) saying that the treatment of the poor is abhorrent and the church had become too focused on divisive issues like gays and abortion. I recall a lot of these so-called "Christians" calling him a Socialist and a Marxist, but must admit I didn't see too many of these American "Christians" defending the leader of their faith. I wonder why that is.

I would ask if any of the actions of these alleged "Christians" are in keeping with the teachings of Christ, but I expect you'd twist this into some sort of attack on Christianity - when in fact I - the atheist - am defending Christianity from those who pretend to follow it. I'm an atheist, but I still think the teachings of Christ are worthwhile and try (albeit unsuccessfully) to live up to His example. At least I have the integrity to admit I don't follow His religion. I don't pretend that I do while simultaneously doing the exact opposite of what He said.

Nice effort to dial him back to reality. Not that it'll work.

Re: 2nd Term Part VII: You May Like Your Doctor But You Can't Keep Her

I could go so many ways with this. Suffice it to say I'm sure your not so obnoxious to people face to face.

You think this is obnoxious? You should see me when the Gophers and Badgers get together.

To your other point... When people spout untruths or show clear double standards, I will call them on it depending on the situation. I've had some pretty good rows with my pop and some of my ditto-head buddies.

All I ever ask is that they try thinking for themselves, but like many on the right, they struggle in that area.

I know it seems obnoxious when people call you on the silly things you say, but it's really just putting a counterpoint up against your interesting... um... ideas.

We're all honored to be in your presence, I'm sure. Such modesty. The Atheist who reserves the right to decide who is and is not a Christian (who has also evidently missed the Reformation). All while yammering about tolerance. Tolerance for himself, of course, but not for others. "Judge not, lest ye be judged."

What crap! We on the left "think for ourselves," but those on the right "get talking points." Such awe inspiring chutzpah.

I know it's hard to grasp, but it would seem that a "Christian" would try to follow the teachings of Christ.

Do you disagree?

I don't think that pointing out hypocrisy is "deciding who is and who is not a Christian."

Be as indignant as you want, but the fact of the matter is that many people who claim to follow Christianity are decidedly un-Christlike.

It's been in all the papers, oh delusional one.

So? As we all know, only Christians, particularly the conservative Protestant type, are hypocritical. And it's the duty of free thinking Atheists to point this out. No Atheist is ever hypocritical. Snotty. Bigoted. Crap.

Hypocrisy seems worse when one uses God as their shield, don't you think?
